Although this was taken in April, it could have been taken any day since then! I like how the blue sky and white clouds are visible in both drops.

My sincerest apologies again for not getting to everyone and I have another busy day today...will do my best! HUGS to all who continue to support and encourage me!

Ribbon-decorated ice cream cone vase, for Part II of my Peony Ice Cream Cone Vase tutorial

I remember it raining a lot during May. This shot was taken while waiting for food delivery outside our building. Plant life seemed much more healthier this year which was likely I side effect of the lockdown. Kind of reminds us how much of an impact humans have on mother nature.

Enjoy the simpler things in life! Go outside and enjoy the moon, sun, wind, clouds, but especially, the beautiful flowers :)

Don't these look just like an ice cream cone? I think so!

This one even has a darker pink spot in the middle that looks just like a cherry.

This one's a close-up.

Lining the cone with plastic to hold the water in.

There was so much rain, the gutters on my house looked like a waterfall which caused this cool effect from the porch light.

They look great in a martini glass (see other photos), but you can also make them even fancier by wrapping them with lace (here, a vintage piece) and displaying them in a bowl with more petals scattered around them.

Wow, looks like thunderstorms were brewing over my area this afternoon! A spring storm system, or a low pressure system, had brought t-storms in the Bay Area and the rest of NorCal this day. It was unusual to have such weather at this time of the year... perhaps it's possibly a sign of a strengthening El Nino? Pic taken from around San Jose, CA. (Thursday early afternoon, May 14, 2015; 12:42 p.m.)

Weather scenario synopsis:

A slow-moving storm system brought rain, lightning and thunder for the Bay Area, with most of the rainfall hitting Contra Costa and Santa Clara counties. Our area was seeing a peculiar spring weather pattern for this time of year. Weak low pressure areas were splitting off the jet stream and moving across California. Thanks to the unstable airmass associated with these systems, scattered showers and t-storms were likely, including around the Bay Area! Certainly, one of these stronger systems had arrived in our area of Thursday, May 14, 2015. All of NorCal saw showers and t-storms. The area observed dozens of lightning strikes with even a few strikes reported near Mountain View, Los Altos and Mount Hamilton in the South Bay. This storm system had came down from Alaska and had moved slowly on a southeast path across the state. Our area of San Jose, CA got a whopping 0.45 inches of rain from this system, thanks to its drenching t-storms! That amount was near the monthly average rainfall for the month of May for our area! That being said, no one storm can eliminate our drought all together... this storm was just a drop in the bucket...

One of the first rainfalls (and it's pouring hard!) we've seen here in Brandon many weeks! I felt bad for a guy who was drenched walking by. You really can't tell that it was pouring in the photo either.

This is a view of the high school parking lot. The field next to it filled. Somewhere underneath all that water is a practice football field.

We were lucky enough to avoid the tornadoes ripping through the state just 10 miles north of us, but we weren't immune from the torrential downpours. There was flooding throughout the whole city.

I was driving through the mountains by The Mormon Rocks, which used to be the old Mormon trail from the early settlers. I ended up seeing quit a few spring flowers blooming and deciding to take a walk and snap a few photos.

They also look great in an old-fashioned sundae glass.
