New family addition! 9 week old Max (named after actor Maximilian Schell)
Max and his sister Dot were shelter kittens in desperate need of a home. I recently started doing some charity work for the Whiskers, Tails and Feral animal shelter (helping them build a website, blog, etc.). They rescue abandoned pets, feral cats and try to save adoptable animals who are scheduled to be euthanized by the Napa city run shelter and Humane Society. Uschi seemed like she might enjoy some kitty companionship so we started considering our options. We were only going to adopt one cat or kitten but when we saw Dot & Max we fell in love with them and we didn't want to separate them. There is also a kitten crisis currently happening in Napa. Whiskers, Tails and Ferals is overrun with kittens that need homes!
We picked up Dot & Max over the weekend. The young siblings are incredibly sweet, extremely affectionate and very playful. Dot follows her brother Max around like she's his shadow. One of the pleasures of owning your own home is being able to share it with animals in need and Andis & I love cats. I'm glad we could give Dot & Max a good home.
If you happen to live in Northern CA and are thinking about adopting a kitten please consider adopting from Whiskers, Tails and Ferals. The local Petco in Napa allows them to operate from their building but they're not associated with it. They have many adorable kittens at the moment that need a home. Many of the kittens have been abandoned or they belong to feral mothers. We've adopted 3 cats from Whiskers, Tails and Ferals in the last few months and all of the kitties have been sweet natured and loving. For more information please visit their Facebook page:
