...of getting all this working:

I've got Windows Vista on my laptop connecting by bluetooth to my mobile phone, and using it as a modem via its GPRS connection.

On the top of that, I'm running a VPN tunnel to the Physics department to allow MATLAB to access the license server.

 

All so I could do some work while I waited for the gas man to show up (he never did).

Loxodrome generated in MATLAB and rendered in Sunflow with different shader .

Made of 22 still images grabbed from video and stacked together with a constant shift on x axis to approx. match the motion of the woman (the camcorder was steady, the shift was done afterwards with a program). I also did some photoshop editing (overlay with some details from uncombined stills).

For reference: this distribution is strongly biased because it is drawn from (1) people who are members of Flickr; (2) people who have chosen to take the Political Compass test; and (3) people who have responded to a request to include their results in this Flickr group. Got some data from the green channel of the CMUcam into Matlab!

The guests visited icddr,b health and demographic data collection facilities, ongoing studies in the villages, the Matlab hospital, especially providing services for women and children and a mother care unit.

The guests also took a boat ride to Matlab, using the same route once taken by hundreds of thousands of cholera patients from remote areas to reach icddr,b’s floating hospital on a barge, which now remains parked at Matlab, bearing witness to the history of humanitarian efforts.
