These are some of the math books that I have used in some of my classes as a math major. These topics range from statistics to differential equations to the history of math. Most of my math courses build off one another so they allow me to succeed in future math courses. Each book is constructed in different ways and has a different purpose. Statistics is very applicable to everyday life while differential equations is mostly correlated with engineering. The history of math book is constructed differently than the other two because it is combining history and the mathematics that got us to where we are today. Clearly, these books demonstrate who I am as a math major. However, they also can show the different ways that I think. Differential equations is a standard logical thinking course. Statistics isn't the common way to think about math and forces you to think about things by a case by case scenario. Lastly, history of math makes you see the progression of mathematics over the course of time and see why we do certain things the way that we do. These different types of thinking will allow me to sell myself as someone who can think in multiple different ways, abstractly or not, to potential future employers.

I can have a good education. By law, every student is entitled to an education that goes through high school. However, every student’s education experience is not the same and students aren’t guaranteed a college education. For me, I went to a Catholic high school and received a much better education than the average student. I could have that because my parents could afford to send me to a private school. This ties in back to what I said before about privilege. Furthermore, I am fortunate to go to a good university such as Ohio State. A lot of students strive to go to Ohio State, but can’t whether it be for money, not good enough grades, or other things. For me, an education from Ohio State is something I can have because of my privilege and other factors.
