This rotating platform was designed and manufactured by Handling Specialty for use in a hi-tech wind tunnel system at an automotive manufacturer.
It is mounted in a pit so that vehicles can be driven onto a platform. The
platform rotates 90°, positioning the automobile in the wind tunnel to an accuracy of 0.005” with no deflection.

The custom designed lift was designed and manufactured by Handling Specialty. It was designed to replace scaffolding used in the maintenance and repair of rolling stock. Hydraulically actuated with a 2,000 lb lifting capacity, the lift is self-propelled along rails at 40 fpm. The operating controls and motor starter for the unit are located on the guard rail on the platform.
