Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.
To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life.

MRL 404 & 405 both are GP35’s repping the old MRL paint scheme, lead the MRL 841 job back into Bozeman, MT passing a set of Northern Pacific signals. This local is based out of Bozeman and serves local industries and makes the occasional run to Livingston Yard, which so happened to happen this day.
A pair of H4 painted SD40-2s head for Grand Forks on H-NTWGFD1-07A coming into the eastern end of Clear Lake.
The crew saw plenty of cameras today but seemed accepting to that fate, as during a 3-shot-series chase, the crew was giving subtle waves.
We're a week into November 2020 and if there's something positive to be remembered, it's chasing SD40s with friends when the temperature (in November) is over 70 degrees.
I last saw 1619 eight years ago in 2012, back when it was H1. Sure was nice to see this today.
As seen on TV, this man has matching mask and robe! Cool. Hope it helps start a new fashion trend in this covidic world!

"The truth of the puzzle information comes in different shapes and colors but in the end it's all connected... What's important to remember is that every piece is meant for you. You might throw it on the side now and use it later, but it will forever remain a part of your bigger picture. Work on your puzzle, with patience and care in moving forward and with a hopeful spirit that it will all work out in the end for your highest good!”

An H4 SD75 and an H4 SD60 lead the H-GFDNTW9-09A in to Big Lake, meeting a westbound Z.
This is my first outing of 2021, and it was fantastic. The weather slowly improved, the trains were fun to watch and the socially-distance company was great too.
Happy New Year, 2021.

Saturday Self Challenge
This week's challenge then is to show two things which are different, yet largely the same. For example two forks that don't match, two different types of yellow car, maybe a pair of different coloured socks from a matching set. Collage or a single image is fine. As ever new photos please.
This was one of those ideas that in my mind seemed simple but turned out to be quite difficult to pull off. I decided after taking photos of the ground pepper and the complete peppercorns in separate containers that they would look probably look better in the same one. That was when the trouble started, trying to get them not to mix. In the end I folded a small piece of aluminium foil and placed it across the middle of the wooden bowl. I carefully filled from each side and then just before I was ready to take the pictures I carefully removed the foil barrier. I did end up with a couple of stray peppercorns getting into the ground up side, but I would have caused too much of a mess attempting to remove them. I do hope it’s suitable for the challenge.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
56103 weaves its way through the reverse curves at Whitacre with 6Z35 DB Bargo Fan A & B sidings to Humberstone Road 60046 was tagged on the rear with the Grid running round the train at Duddeston.
After missing these guys leaving the SAPPI Somerset mill in Skowhegan, I backtracked and found them just outside of Shawmut village with more clouds than sun. At a brisk 10 MPH on the majority (if not the entirety) of the branch, it was an easy chase and one I wasn't about to abandon with the potential of getting some sun. Sister's MEC 315 & 316 lead Y121 off the Hinckley Branch and onto CSX's Waterville Sub at WAT 110, (formerly CPF-110) on September 28, 2024. To my knowledge there are only three or four of the "Big G" GP40s remaining in service while the rest have been sidelined due to various issues.
A pair of Buffleheads pair off and enjoy the small pond. The color of the water is interesting as it takes reflection from the various docks and canoes along its edge
Will wanted matched Santa Fe's on the local, so here we go, back to 2007. BNSF B23-7 4234 leads BNSF GP35 2639 the R-CHI427 up the ramp to the Crescent Bridge in Rock Island, IL with Iowa Interstate's Milan Branch down below.
BNSF 4234 is off the roster and BNSF 2639 is one of the former TP&W GP35's, now rebuilt into a GP39-3 and repainted into H3. The B23-7's were very rare on the Quad City locals, so I tried to take advantage of it.
