Mass transit meets East Broad Top in an interesting way. We see a suburban Philadelphia trainset used on the Red Arrow Lines and the East Broad Top 16 meeting on the wye at the Rockhill Trolley Museum.

Tussenwater station is the place where the former Benelux line ( A line now) and the former Erasmus line (D line now) of the RET, the municipal mass transit organization, meet.
Tussenwater has platforms for both lines. In the direction of Schiedam, the Erasmus line is crossed, explaining why the southern platform is higher than the other three.
Tussenwater is a towering station. Architect Maarten Struijs has designed two imposing 'gateways', over 17 meters high. The primary colours are blue and red, echoing the colours of both lines. Inside the gateways have a cathedral-like feel.
This is number 10 of the new album dedicated to Maarten Struijs, infrastructural architect here
The tram is a important method of transportation in Prague city center. It is really easy to use because it's at street level so you do not need to walk down stairs like the metro (the Prague metro is really deep underground because during the cold war they were supposed to double as nuclear war shelters). Trams can get through the city really fast because they have right-of-way of both pedestrians and cars. And they are frequent, you never have to stand at a stop for very long, a tram comes along every few minutes.
As evening falls over the city, a BTS Skytrain weaves its way through the Thon Buri District of Bangkok, Thailand on the Silom Line.

I love any shots related to mass transit, especially trains. The New Haven Train Station really hits the mark for me; parts of it remind me of the system in DC a bit. I recall that back in the time just after 9/11 the security people around mass transit would confront me and tell me to stop shooting. At the time I was shooting Large Formant. I couldn't imagine a terrorist setting up a 4x5 with a tripod and blanket over me to see the screen and focus. One of them actually said, "I'm sure you understand why". It was all I could do to keep the smartass remark to myself, pack up and move along. I had to tell myself that they're just doing their job as best they can and my country had a lot of people who were really afraid. To this day I still get the occasional person (not security or police, mind you) taking issue with the fact that I'm shooting in an "off the beaten path" area.
I wonder how many of you experience the same.....do you encounter that too? Any replies would be appreciated.

Having fun in Mass Transit, exposing for the highlights as the mass of commuters and travellers passed across a cross hatch of lights and shadows. I enjoyed how it picked out bits and pieces across the frame and the distribution of the highlights.

Btw, it's quite an interesting contrast to hear what the British Prime Minister thinks:
"We’re in a different world. I think it is important that people should feel confident again and people should feel able to go back to work in the normal way. I do want to see our country really getting back on its feet …" Boris Johnson told the BBC in an interview broadcast Sunday.
"I'm not saying that we should throw caution to the winds, but now is the moment for everybody to get their confidence back."
"We’ve reached a stage where we think you can shift the balance away from state mandation – away from banning certain courses of action, compelling certain courses of action – in favour of encouraging personal responsibility."
"Covid will not suddenly disappear. So those who would wait for a total end to this war before lifting these regulations would be restricting the liberties of the British people for a long time to come."
"We don't need laws to compel people to be considerate to others. We can rely on that sense of responsibility towards one another, providing practical advice in the knowledge that people will follow it to avoid infecting loved ones and others."
"So let us learn to live with this virus and continue protecting ourselves and others without restricting our freedoms."
The British are in a different world indeed...
Anyone who has traveled in Southeast Asia knows that the motorbike is a form of 'mass transit'....it is not uncommon to see three or four on a bike; sometimes five, as in the image below.....I kept wondering if I would be able to see six on a bike....finally in Phnom Penh I saw them coming and was appropriately acknowledged as the tourist I was by the young man in front....
Much as there is a certain degree of underground rail transport in Kuala Lumpur the cities main means of avoiding the hugely busy traffic network is to elevate the railway lines. This is evidenced here as a Red Line mass transit service enters the station at Pasar Seni.
