Strobist info:

Bottle was placed in a homemade softbox with one shoplight positioned on each side with CFL bulbs.

LumoPro LP160 was placed about 1.5' overhead and set on 1/4 power with 24mm zoom.

Was fired with my on-camera flash which I had taped over with masking tape to diffuse.

I am new to off-camera flash photography so I am trying to learn all I can.

magazine and masking tape envelope

I have planned to add colour to some of my wooden rings. I have put masking tape around the sides of the ring so that I can paint one of the surfaces white. I like the idea of adding just one colour to one surface of the ring - it is just a slight expansion for me in using wood as a material in jewellery-making. I decided on white because I thought that it would look neutral next to the wood. I think that it adds a certain balance to the ring. For now, I used simple emulsion paint but in future, I think that I shall have to prime the wood and use a special paint for wood.

my fav poem:

I live my life in widening circles

that reach out across the world.

I may not complete this last one

but I give myself to it.

I circle around God, around the great tower.

I've been circling for thousands of years

and I still don't know: am I a falcon,

a storm, or a great song?
