I'm finally at a somewhat functional temp..... and I'm getting better. Drinking plenty of water and electrolytes and all that jazz... stay safe, stay hydrated, take frequent breaks!
This is an abstract photograph of looking up at a chandelier. Probably not a good idea to be under this thing if it falls…
A common theme of my photography is looking up. There is a lot that’s missed when you only look ahead of you for the shot. Whether it’s a cell phone tower, a building, a gazebo, or the Eiffel Tower, there is always a photo to be found.
From there, abstract interpretations can be made. Many people have commented that the first thing they thought of was “coronavirus” when looking at this image.
You can take it a step further and rotate the image to potentially transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Lately, this idea has dominated my photography. Please check out my albums for more!
"Mask Up" is some digital art play.
There may be a subtle, pandemic related, message here too. We now have one of the highest deaths per capita ratings in the world. Shame on our politicians for giving up on the health of the people.
...to everyone who wanted one. finding my own little way to help.
Thanks Flickr for putting focus on this simple most important thing that everyone can do...glad to be included in:

Hi all. First a personal note which is something I do not normally post or do. My name is Steve, and I photograph and have been posting on Flickr under FarrahF and 1Sixth, I believe since 2012. Initially I was not going to post any of Noel's repaints in masks or really make any images about COVID-19 or 2020 on this account. But since I have contracted COVID and have been in quarantine since November 28th I thought I should post something relative and about Covid in general. This is not political but about everyone's health. I worked for the last nine months masked and being extremely careful. Unfortunately for me, I had an infected person directly behind me who expelled their cigarette smoke and saliva directly on my face, skin and in my eyes. I knew when I was exposed and I knew I was probably going to contract COVID. I registered on line and was tested and five days after I thought I'd been exposed it was confirmed on December 3rd and I have symptoms ranging from fever to extreme chest/stomach pain, fevers and breathing issues that landed me in the Emergency Room two days ago. The point in posting this little summary and these images is that you are better off Masking UP! and also incorporating some kind of eyewear protection. I was able to stave off being exposed for nine months as I was diligent about social distancing and staying masked up wherever I went. So I am just sharing this information with all of you who may read this or follow this account to stay safe, be diligent, be aware of who is around you and how close they are to you. It only takes one time. One chance encounter and you can become infected. I have no health issues or history of asthma, heart trouble or any allergies. So, I truly thought I would never contract Covid. But I have and I would not wish this on anyone. So, please, even if you think it is pointless or never going to hit you or someone you care about, MASK UP! Make an effort to protect yourself or others from you. You may be infected and not even know it.
To everyone who follows this account, thank you for following, for liking and for complimenting the photos I've taken. I have greatly enjoyed being a part of the Flickr community for years and hope to continue being a part of this amazingly creative outlet of collectors and photographers.
I wish you all a safe and healthy holiday.

Working from home is not an option for nurses, police, prison officers, but it is a relatively new experience for a majority of workers with jobs that can be done remotely – almost 60% say they rarely or never worked from home prior to the coronavirus outbreak. For those who have made the switch to telework, their work lives have changed in some significant ways. In this photo my wife checks her computer, not because she works from home, but because she has a day off and is checking her personal email. As a nurse who worked through the pandemic masked up everyday during 12 hour shifts for the past two years, she is exhausted. When will they allow medical professionals a break from the masks?

April 22, 2022 - "The Antwerp Central Station, also known as Middenstatie (Middle station) or Spoorwegkathedraal (Railroad Cathedral), was first used in 1905. The structure is made up from a steel platform covering and a stone station building in an eclectic style. Recently, the station was completely renovated and in 2007 a tunnel underneath the station and a part of Antwerp was opened, reverting the station’s status as a terminus where are all trains have to turn back. In 2009, the American magazine Newsweek chose the Antwerp Central Station as the fourth most beautiful train station in the world.
"The original station building was constructed between 1895 and 1905 as a replacement for the original terminus of the Brussels-Mechelen-Antwerp Railway. The stone clad terminus buildings, with a vast dome above the waiting room hall were designed by Louis Delacenserie and the vast (185 metres long and 44 metres high) iron and glass trainshed by Clement van Bogaert. The viaduct into the station is also a notable structure designed by local architect Jan Van Asperen. The station is now widely regarded as the finest example of railway architecture in Belgium, although the extraordinary eclecticism of the influences on Delacenserie's design had led to a difficulty in assigning it to a particular architectural style. In W. G. Sebald's Austerlitz an ability to appreciate the full range of the styles that might have influenced Delacensiere is used to demonstrate the brilliance of the fictional architectural historian who is the novel's protagonist. In February 2009, the American newspaper 'Newsweek' found that the station deserved a 4th place as world's most beautiful station."
"In 1835 the first train from Brussels to Antwerp arrived in Antwerp in a wooden station outside the city walls, in Koningin Astridplein. This structure was replaced in 1854 by a new wooden station building near the Antwerp Zoo’s current entrance: East Station.
But King Leopold II felt that Antwerp deserved a more prestigious station. In 1895 Bruges-born architect Louis dela Censerie set to work. Ten years later Antwerp’s Central Station was officially inaugurated. The station consists of an elevated railway bed, a covered steel platform hall and a monumental station building for services and ticket hall.
Antwerp’s Central Station is considered one of the most beautiful stations worldwide. Between 2000 and 2009 the monumental building was completely modernised and expanded to accommodate the high-speed rail line. More platforms were opened on two additional underground levels, an additional entrance with station hall was built in Kievitplein and space was created for shops and restaurants. The unique metal platform roof had previously been restored. In the past Antwerp Central Station was a terminus where trains had to turn around. But since 2007, trains can continue their journey thanks to the railway tunnel between Antwerp Central Station and the north of the city." Lots of work to get the campus ready for Fall 2020. Like many schools, the University of Michigan will be having a hybrid approach to education. Here are pictures of the first month of Fall Term in September 2020. On campus - students and staff seem to be behaving well and adhering to mask wearing and social distancing. Let's hope it continues. #MaskUp #MaskUpMichigan
