Although a bit of a hike, and somewhat crowded, the Cliff Overlook provides magnificent views of Harper's Ferry, WV and the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers.
More lightning that I was able to capture with storms moving through Maryland ... something I would like to try again. It was a pretty neat experience and thrill ... making sure I was not hit by the lightning too.
Just spent the last two days in western Maryland and West Virginia ... up in the mountains. Here near Savage Mountain in Western Maryland ... the hoarfrost here was nearly 3/4 inch thick on the trees. The fog that covered the peaks in the mountains added to the wintry scene.
This osprey was returning to its nest and hovered for a couple seconds allowing for this close in shot.
I expect this would be called a weed. But the plant produced lots of wind-ready fruit, and it looked elegant, for a weed.

... the rocks is the Potomac River here between Maryland and Virginia. This is in the Maryland Great Falls National Park side.
Have been in West Virginia this weekend exploring the mountains and Fall colors, as well as the Branch rivers that feed into the Potomac River. These smaller rivers are just as pretty up in the mountains.

Taken along the Chesapeake Bay while flying along the eastern shoreline.
Drove through north central Maryland and stopped to take pictures of some very beautiful horses. This part of Maryland has many horse farms. Gorgeous part of the state. This particular horse was very friendly, the others wandered away but he stayed and posed for me.
I guess a HFF is appropriate for this photograph .. : )
