Each Basenji has unique markings. A good marking is important in a show dog. There are already people interested in these litters, so getting a photo of their markings available for viewing was one of the reasons for bringing the camera to Grandma's last night.

It is the Responsibility of locators not to destroy the site with paint. There is a professional responsibility not to destroy the site with white paint that many firms forget.

I have dozens of pictures of non-professionals that get the feel-good factor to obliterate the site with white paint..

No one wants to see it, the public does not like the urban-graffiti, it only needs to last long enough to survey and the service contract is to locate the utilities, not mark up the site. Temporary marking is sufficient and serves clients and the public well.

Marking the lines for the tents.

I see these markings on the pavement all the time. They're my version of crop circles but for urban Londoners. One day, all is well. The next, these strange doodles have suddenly appeared overnight. What are they trying to tell us?

I'm sure these markings mean something to someone.

I'm thinking they're burned in?

...and so it is. Anyway I'm off on summer vacation for the next week. Away from the internet, Flickr, TradeMe and out of cellphone range. My 13 year old may not survive. I will. See you all soon. Cheers S
