We helped sell over 500 million dollars in real estate by building a series of presentation centers and assisting with marketing strategy, planning and vision for this group of ultra luxury homes in San Jose del Cabo. The project included a retrofit of a sales office within the legendary One and Only Palmilla.

Characters, creatures and letterforms fill volumes of sketchbooks in the Beindorff Design studio. Sketches are a central part of the working method as preliminary concepts evolve into final artwork.

 

Details of personal work.

PROJECT: Pangaea Designs wanted to highlight the diversity of their company by creating a unique shaped piece that spoke to all of the studio’s talents.

 

DESCRIPTION: Pangaea Designs, a company that specializes in custom fabricated models, fossils, and exhibitry components for natural history museums, parks, visitor centers, zoos, and aquaria.

Inspired by it’s beauty and diversity, this exhibit followed the path of a family that was exploring Australia for the first time. A journal that recorded their findings would serve as wayfinding signage, leading the visitor through various interactive exhibits and tanks.

 

This exhibit would have featured fish, plants, and animals, all native to Australia.

 

Two interactive components show the impact and importance of everyday water conservation. A series of before and after photos that follow the course of the Colorado River are synchronized to light up in unison with fiber optics, showing the depleation of water.

 

A large scale exhibit that highlights before and after effects that dams and aqueducts have on the Colorado River.

2010 is the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and AIGA Colorado is celebrating it with this year's Giving Voice Poster Project. It is a collaboration between AIGA Colorado, VSA Arts of Colorado/Access Gallery and the partnership with Colorado Cross Disability Coalition.

 

"Advocate For Equality", a propaganda-style poster that's meant to live on the city streets, in full view of the public eye. Street-wise bullhorns rise above the gathering crowd, informing us that EQUALITY is a universal right.

Arguably the most famous luxury brand name in the world, on certainly one of the finest beaches in the U.S.A., with drastically reduced pricing. The Trump name doesn't have quite the appeal locally that it does globally. So how 'Trump' is Trump Hollywood? Just Trump enough to catch your eye. Because with Trump Hollywood, it only gets better the closer you look.

Why did they make the residences at Marquis so gosh-darned BIG? So the windows would fit, Einstein. Try and wrap your arms around that one.

But seriously, folks, it can be tough to find a fresh way to say something that, even though it’s true, has been said countless times before. Like, “We’ve got really big windows.” So this ad for Marquis pushed the envelope a bit by taking this poor lady and pulling her hands really hard. It’s a bit of a stretch, but we’re pretty sure it hasn’t been done before.

Do they influence our consumer behavoir? Yes, indeed because in the age of kindergarten you can't differentiate if the commercials tell you the truth or not. We can see these series especially made to market certain toys in the 80s. Think of the Care Bears, think of Rainbow Brite, think of PJ Sparkles, think of Jem and the Holograms just to name a few. Have you parents bought you any of these? Congrats, then the advertising did what it should. Think of your point of view from today again. Would you buy them again? [part of our Local Skateboards brand we've been building in class]

 

As a contributing member of our group, I had to create 2 skateboard deck designs. I started out with a general Sharpie idea...with shapes that were partly inspired by the Local logo itself.

 

I live-traced it and adjusted the colors [of the one below], and had fun with some custom text, too.

The one below is a little fuzzy, just because I live-traced the thing a little too fast and didn't take time to clean it up much. Not thrilled with the colors... they look a little too vintage/vinyard-ish. :] Kinda wish I did a deep sky blue sort of combination.

 

I got so crazy with this design that I even mocked up a few Tshirts.

 

Just with the "Local" text didn't get covered by the wheel. Haha. Bad planning. If I have to ever design skateboards again, I'll remember that. :]

Sausage Fest

The urban dictionary describes Sausage Fest as "Any gathering that is made up of an unusually large percentage of guys." Webster's Dictionary doesn't even recognize the term. At WOMMA we like to describe it as an opportunity to get all WOM enthusiasts in one location to meet, eat meat, and drink beer!

 

Some consider Chicago the "Sausage Capital" of the world and Germany the "Beer Capital" of the world. So we decided to merge the two and create Sausage Fest. After all, it's got to be Octokberfest somewhere in the world, so we paired up some of the best sausage in town with some German beer to create our own School of WOM Beer Hall. The idea behind this logo was to highlight a star as the symbolic representation of the spirit of the games.

This mark promoted the 2000 Winter USA Jr. Olympic Hockey Festival.

This was my little marketing part of our project. What would a skateboard brand be without a promo DVD? Complete with local boarders and awesome bands. Not really...but let's just act like it's cool. It starts to feel real after a while. :] The DVD definitely looks photoshopped in there, but okayyyy...

 

I'll be attaching links for all the contributors of this project. I used a lot of awesome Flickr photos with permission for this DVD [including the inside of the booklet, which sadly I haven't printed yet].
