Video Notes:
Studies have shown that having a growth mindset, leads to the expansion of one’s creativity which fosters opportunities for innovation.
Mark Joyner about the Utilitarian Model Flexibility or “Useful Lenses” and how it fits together with innovation. This concept talks about how the models of reality that we have may vary or be altered - that the way we interact with the world around us can change.
Some of the Useful Lenses for looking at Innovation:
Innovation happens by merging ideas together.
Morphic Resonance - In a field of information readily available, people can get the same ideas at the same time. There are those people who are wired to be incredibly receptive to these ideas and are better able to put ideas out into the world.
When we free ourselves from limiting beliefs or a fixed mindset and expand our view of reality, we open up ourselves to a myriad of ideas that can pave the way for innovation to occur.

Video Notes:
Information complexity and the future of technology are constantly picking up speed at an exponential rate. In this episode, Mark talks about the “Big Five Phenomenon” in future technology and the technological threats that are likely to emerge.
The Complexity Gap - The space between the amount of information available and the amount of information a human can process.
Big Five Phenomenon - Everything is smaller, faster, more powerful, more available, and cheaper. With the advancements technology, it has become evidently simple to make automatic weapons with the use of 3D printers. Imagine creating a weapon of mass destruction right at your fingertips
While uncertainties in technological expansion cause concern, our self-awareness and growth mindset play key roles in welcoming new technology with confidence and hope.
We have to acknowledge that while technological expansion increases our capacity for good, it also increases the potential for destruction. This level of awareness will equip us to understand who we are as a species, form a better sense of responsibility for each other and overcome any uncertainty in the future.

"No Mark! Don't get so close! They'll bite you!" They were just fine as long as i was gentle and respectful to them.
It doesn't take much to build trust with them as long as you're not afraid and you express kindness.
The big mamma monkey swooped in and terrified the other mamma monkey. Apparently they liked my pear.
