In the heart of Bohol, Visayas, the Philippines, freshly caught bangus fish are meticulously laid out to dry under the tropical sun. This traditional method of fish preservation is a testament to the enduring practices of the local fishermen and their families, whose stilt houses line the serene turquoise waters. The vibrant scene captures the essence of a community deeply connected to the sea, where every element, from the drying fish to the colorful laundry, tells a story of resilience and harmony with nature.

The small fishing harbor in Mutrah is a vital hub for the local fishing community. It’s where fishermen bring in their daily catch in small boats, to supply fresh fish to nearby markets, including the Mutrah Fish Market. The harbour is located near the Mutrah Corniche and offers a glimpse into everyday life in Mutrah, with scenes of fishermen cleaning and sorting their catch, repairing nets, or preparing for the next day at sea. The backdrop of the rugged Hajar Mountains and the proximity to the scenic Corniche make it a picturesque and culturally rich spot – Mutrah, Muscat, Oman

The traditional boats on the Costa da Caparica beach are a tourist attraction and a cultural heritage. These boats, called botes or fragatas, are used for artisanal fishing and have bright colors and rounded shapes. Some of them are anchored in the sand, while others are out at sea, waiting for the fishermen.

A young man wades through the shallow coastal waters of Tagbilaran, Visayas, Philippines, foraging for shellfish, lobsters, crabs, sea urchins, mollusks, and even octopus—a traditional practice in many coastal communities. With only a bucket and his bare hands, he searches the rocky seabed for sustenance, embodying a way of life that has existed for generations. The monochrome tones highlight the solitude, resilience, and deep connection between humanity and the ocean, making this a powerful visual story of survival and tradition.

To be honest, I usually describe this type of public art as "Red Metal Things". Ireland is full of this type of Public art.

I last visited Belfast in May and because the hotel prices are increasing at such a rate there was a possibility that it was my last visit before Brexit. However, I have managed to book a hotel for three nights in the last week of March at a very good price so I will be in the UK when Brexit take place and hopefully that will be an interesting time. In 2018 I stayed in the Bullitt hotel and paid about Euro for two nights but when I tried to book three nights in March 2019 they were asking for Euro 150 per night which is crazy but almost be accident I got three nights at the Ramada for Euro 218 [ earlier in May of this year they were asking for close to Euro 160 per night].

The buoys which have been considered to be public works of art at Cathedral Gardens beside St Anne's Cathedral since the 1980s may be moved to a new location in the Titanic Quarter.

The buoys are more than 50 years old and are of the type used in local Irish waters. They were presented to the council by the Commissioner for Irish Lights in recognition of the port and maritime tradition of the city of Belfast. They were repainted in 2009, but the colours chosen were considered by many as controversial as they were not in line with the colours used to mark the buoys when they served as navigation aids. More recently they were repainted in the authentic colours and, in my opinion, they are more attractive.

Saint-Tropez, mythical village with strong character, remains the preferred destination of upscale tourism.

Nevertheless, through the marina and its many manifestations, we are committed to maintaining the balance between the maritime tradition, the tradition of sailing and yachts.

Final feed of fresh fiddleheads. We did them up with perogies last night. I've never combined then before, but I'll be doing it again.
