Jessica on the Subway
Mi first parade, final chronicle
And so at the Zocalo, between looking the arrival of the other groups-cars, and taking pics here and there the parade came to an end. Just the walking part for the event was to continue.
Mariana very kindly waited with me while I was going here and there to take photos, until the clock told her it was her time to leave.
While being there we found a couple of the TvMex girls, that told us that the rest were either somewhere on the zocalo, or have already gone back.
And since my feet were already in Pain, and Mariana was going in the same direction as myself, I decided to go with her, and venture to take a ride on the subway in girl mode.
Mexico City subway its always an adventure on itself, and now I was going to go girl mode, But I was scared of it a bit, for the subway sometimes goes way to full with people, believe its horrible when it goes like that, had it been the case I would have opted to not go. But it went more normal, even part of the trip I went on a seat.
From there we arrived to Insurgentes station, Mariana walked to where she parked, and me back to the hotel to rest a little.
And so it ended my part on the LGBT parade.
Final thoughts.
After the parade, and putting my pics here, a couple of friends asked me things, a couple of question made me think a bit more than others, and so here are my answers, thoughts.
Question 1
Beside the nice moment, the fun, the thrill, does being at the parade left you something as Jessica, as a person??
Yes, its understandable that from the photos and chronicle, that it was mostly joy, emotion, nervousness, fun what went there.
But there was also a part of learning and growing by deciding to do something like it.
For Jessica I think it helped to grow a sense of friendship with some of the girls that walked with me, I sincerely think that to be part of it and share the thrill of it does create a sense of unity with those that participate with you.
As person, first I think that help in decreasing fears, for instance at a start one of my biggest fears of doing it were "what if someone sees me here" but as you walk, and with so many people both walking and seeing, it kind of looses importance to fear that. And yes one could argue that the effect of not fearing that its just for that time, that it will come back, and yes after the euphoria of doing it passes , it slowly returns, it does not fully returns, the level of fear indeed decreases in the long run, and less fear is a way of growing.
Another is self confidence, and it was more for what happened before and after walking, and yes a friend that told me that because of what day and the areas I went, it was expected to get lees weird looks, still not having one does increases that confidence to continue to go out.
Question 2
And did you achieve something by being part of it?? Or do you think something good is achieved of the parade existing??
That me going achieved something not for me, on itself maybe not, but after all some events that look for visibility are effective by the number of participants, and you can say, one more or one less would not be that different (with exceptions), well it is the add of all those one that make it as big as it get, so yes I did achieve increasing how many participated.
On another side I would like to think that those few people that decided to go out of the sideline to say "Hey you look really nice", or "I like your dress, where did you bought it", or just made a supporting smile, take with then a different impression (a good one) of what is like to be a tgirl, but I do concede what my friend said, perhaps they already had one.
Same things as with the photos, More photos were taken (that I noticed) than the ones I took, and yes I do saw that many of the people that took the photo did took it out of morbidity, or to have a pic to say "look from the parade, how could one be or go like that", but there were also the ones that took the photo from a different perspective, from the ones that "I want a photo of someone else that was part of the parade like me", or "This could turn into a nice photo (without regards of who the subject of the photo was)", or even as one person said to me after a photo "Its just that your image is so different, not like some others" (me thinks good image)
And as for what does the parade achieves in general, to star visibility, to tell people that there are people that are living in an specific way, hat are not that afraid (as to be part of it) of being them, that are capable of standing to be themselves.
Another friend ho asked it, told me that the way some of the participants dressed or acted achieved more in creating a negative image than any other good thing. Reality is that comparing the outfits and attitudes with the carnival here, I really don’t see much difference. Yes there are exceptions to it, and yes some outfits or attitudes go way too much, definitively looking to defy, challenge or even disturb and alter the observer, but the most of them are not. And it is a thing that depends on the observer, to decide which part he gives more weight, that few ones that went on the wrong side or the most of them that put cheers, talent and imagination (and lots of costumes-outfit needs lot of it).

With Ana Karen
The first parade, chronicle Part 3
First to tell you about the photo, finally after a long time of knowing her just by photo and messenger I was able to meet in person Ana Karen, a girl I admire a lot since she has managed to get a really feminine image, plus a great look of beauty.
Now to continue my chronicle, Well from the Angel to insurgentes there was a lot of people on the sides, then from there it started to go down, so that when we were just waiting without walking, a friend told me "strange, this year there is so few people". I said to myself, the less people the better.
We started walking again, and when we arrived to the corner where we were going to take the street next to Alameda to walk into downtown, HORROR, the amount of people there was incredible, there were even points were there was so many people that they left just a tiny space to let the parade walk. For a moment I was wishing to disappear, but then just being in a group calmed me down and I continued walking.
Also it was by this point that my feet started to get tired of the effort, but there was still a long way ahead. and so among lots of People we arrived next to Bellas Artes.
Then we went into the downtown streets, and having the feet already tired , to keep walking required effort, but since downtown streets are all irregular, walking became like an impossible mission. And the amount of pepople just increased, due to the people downtown doing their stuff.
But from there it was now the last part (6 blocks I think they are) to arrive to the main plaza Zocalo. At some point I went out with a friend to buy something to drink, by the time we get back to the parade the other girls were nowhere to be seen. We kept walking, but suddenly there were no people from the parade. and I thought "Horror, we lost them, they sure are now at zocalo, how are we going to find them there"
And here I stop the chronicle

La primer marcha
Cronica parte 1

The first parade
Chronicle part 1
On friday, after going to say hello to my friend Vania, even when I really wanted to go out to party and dance, I said to myself, " Jessica, better go to sleep early tonight, for tomorrow you have a long day ahead ", and so by midnight I was at my room ready to go sleep.
And yes, not 5 minutes have gone by, when I was already sleeping and dreaming, but like one and a half hour later I was awake again, to bit later fall sleep again just to wake up one more time, and so it was all night. I was so nervous that I couldn't sleep in one stop. And even when I set the alarm for 8, I was already wake up and all nervous by 7.
A bit later went out (but in boy mode) to get something light for breakfast, but even when I didn't want to go with my stomach already full, I couldn't go without eating something (a tempting thought to show a better figure), but to walk for hours under the son without eating before doesn't sound like a good idea.
Back to my room to start the ritual, shower, a little check on the legs, be sure that no facial hair is still around, and to get dress, and the bra being too low, then the straps looked weird, that the dress ribbon looked out. But at the end, I was dressed.
Called my friend Trixie,, that was going to pick me up to walk together to the meeting point with the other girls from TVMex, and well we agreed on an hour for her to stop by my hotel, still time enough.
And taking my time, stopping a few times to watch tv to relax my nervousness, little by little makeup started to get shape, actually had to do it twice, for at the first try, the eyes ended up looking weird, but by the second I found the look good enough, Put on wig, and there I was ready.
When it was almost the agreed time, since I agreed to see my friend at the hotel entrance, time to go out of my room, and to gather the most courage while I was riding the elevator to look the less possible nervous and shaky when passing by reception to leave the key.
And although I have several times stayed at that hotel, and come in and out as Jessica, I don't know why, but that day I was too nervous about it. And to walk outside to wait for my friend Trixie. While I was waiting, I saw how a guy came out, wearing a costume that really screamed "hey look at me", and seeing that kind of made me more relaxed, and forget any worries of me going out in girl mode.
Finally my friend Trixie arrived, and we started to walk towards "The Angel", When coming near, the amount of people was just too much, how could we be able to found the other girls. A quick call to Rocio to get instructions, and we started walking to the street cross they were. But we were unable to locate them. Then my friend Trixie saw her friend Joanna that was like us looking for them
We decide that instead of keep walking more, better go back to the start, Trixie on one side, me on the other, and from there look the people walk, in hopes on finding them. I did found them, but it was more on a lucky second, for after I took a photo, I turned myself to the other side to check the camera display, and it was then that I saw the TVMex girls and Rocio.
I was just saying hello, when the people started to move, and as I messaged my friend Trixie with our location I started walking. And so it was, how my participation on the Parade started.

A seguir caminando y disfrutando.

Walking with Trixie.
Chronicle of the parade part 2
Before I go on with the chronicle, want to show you the photo with my lovely friend Trixie, who very kindly went to pick me to go together to the parada. Also the TVMex ribbon, it was her who asked me to use it.
And back to the chronicle, as I messaged Trixie to tell her our location, people started to move, and so it was like that that I gave the first steps as a participant of the LGBT parade.
And there among all nervoussness and being looked by thousands of people (welll maybe not thousands right there, but allong all the walk surely) my feet made me walk a new road.
First thing that spooked me was the amount of people going and coming, logical being that the starting point, surely some were looking for their friends like I was minutes before, the ones that decided to instead of looking just wait till they passed by, the ones running to be on time to go into the trucks, or what any other reason.
Second, the photos, and of course it was not like one could say No being that I was also taking lots of photos, or to avoid them. And like that, while taking a new photo or posing for another one the road was being walked.
At some point we stopped walking a bit, and my friend Trixie joined us, alon the way a few more girls arrived, and by then we were a good group.
After crossing Insurgentes street the group expanded , part of i being that there was noone walking behind us, probably a red light, so we were able to stop here and there for photos and the like. And to keep walking and enjoying.
A few blocks ahead, sudenly we had to stop, and stop for a long time, never knew why. But that was ok, since it allowed us to regroup, and also to take a little rest for the other half of the walk.
And I stop it here for today.

Jessica and Mariana
First Parade, chronicle part 4
First the photo, at the Zocalo, with my lovely friend Mariana, she was the friend I went out of the parade to go buy a soda at a store, and ended up lost. Also she stayed with me while I was taking photos all around the Zocalo, and at the end.
As I was telling, Mariana and I arrived to the Zocalo, thinking we had ahead the task of looking for the rest of the girls all around the Zocalo. While walking we saw that on the other corner there were lots of people guarding the street, so we went there.
It happens the parade was going over that other street, at some previous corner it changed street, and we didn’t noticed.
And to our good luck, as we went in to see which group was walking by, it happened to be our group, TvMex girls. What a coincidence without much trouble we were back together.
And so I walked the last meters with them to finally arrive to the Zocalo. And finally the end of the walking in the parade, for there was more walking still to do.
Once there the usual take a photo, see here, go there. Then Rocio said, "Well who is going with us to eat".
It was past 3:30, so in group we went to eat a bit. A chaos at where we went for we sure were a big group.
After eating, I returned with Mariana to the Zocalo, to watch the remaining groups of the parade arrive at the Zocalo.
For now I stop the chronicle.

French Madam and Red Riding Hood.
A french Madam, I really like that style of dress, but that would be a little too short for me. See the handfan, looks nice.
Next to her, a red riding hood, with its own apple basket. How many wolf did she had to scape from during the parade??
Cobra
Cobra
A cobra costume, interesting one.
Also I so loved the black dress from the girl in the back, I want one like that.
Conejita
Bunnie
Is it that the phantom of the opera came to participate on the parate this year, and decide to do drag as a bunnie.
Or are the bunny girls doing their version of the play.
Anyway the outfit is nice, and the mascara makes it stand to other similars, making it unique.
Romana
Roman
A girl dressed as a Roman Soldier. The outfit looks great, but I thinks its missing a sword.
Angel Plata
Silver Angel
An angel made of silver, The black wings not only fit well, they looked incredible.
Manitas
Hands
This outfit is interesting. Did he make it with his own hands?? Or were the hands of a tailor involved? Did it required a helping hand to put it on?? I bet he can lend you a hand if you need help.
Better stop writing silly and unfunny jokes.
Trueno
Thunder
This fellow painted with thunders looked amazing, reallly an awesome work of body-paint and make-up.
Angelitos
Angels
It looks nice how one is a white angel and the other a black angel.
Feathers in green and yellow
This guy outfit, reminds me of the carnaval that goes here on the island.
Estra to it surely being all too complicated to do a dress like that it must be a complete chaos to walk with all those feathers and ribbons. But it does look really interesting,
