The Carl Sandburg College Career, Technical and Health Education Department hosted a breakfast for local business, manufacturing and education professionals on Thursday, April 3 to discuss the five-year outlook in the manufacturing field. Attendees began with breakfast followed by the meeting and later a tour of Sandburg facilities. Attendees included representatives from area schools and industry partners including Midstate Manufacturing, BNSF Railway, Pegasus Manufacturing, GREDA and numerous other local business and economic development agencies. El Passatge de les Manufactures és un passatge que uneix els carrers de Trafalgar (26) i el carrer de Sant Pere més baix (31). Va ser obert el 1878 pel fabricant de teixits Joan Cirici. En el seu interior hi havia el Bar Pasajes i algunes petites botigues, incloent un rellotger, però van anar tancant i el Passatge de les Manufactures va entrar en decadència. El passatge de les Manufactures tancava durant la nit i els dies festius. L'adquisició de les finques que eren travessades pel passatge per una cadena hotelera va implicar el tancament del passatge temporalment. Tot va ser reformat integrament i el Passatge de les Manufactures ha recuperat l'esplendor que havia perdut al llarg dels anys.
