11 exposures stacked median in Photoshop, each between 5-20 seconds, totaling about 2 minutes, then blended with a darker exposure sky.
This was blue hour just before it became pitch dark with freezing temperatures around 28F (-2C).

Thank you very much for your kind comments and faves.
My tiny little helpers from little world gave me once more a helping hand. They did the presets for my last manual focus shooting. :)

Viltrox dumb adapter used, I suspect the aperture was f8 or f11 (lens was set at f2.8 and adapter at No.4 if anyone knows what aperture that results in please let me know). Also I don't know where Exif gets a shutter speed of 1/16000th from as the camera's maximum shutter speed is only 1/8000 !
Correction: I was using the electronic shutter and this apparently has a maximum speed of 1/32000th, Wow !
Though I do have technologically advanced cameras, I tend to prefer older cameras (all these are second-hand cameras with a 16MP sensor) and use them manually. I am not rejecting technological excellence and sophisticated algorithms. All I am saying is that I have more joy when working manually and that Fuji's old 16MP sensor is really good enough for my purposes. This shot was done with my new (ten year old) Fuji X-Pro1.

I have been riding this lens all week, pushing—demanding—it to do what it does not want, desperately hoping to break the fragile ties that bind it to limitations that do not exist.
A macro view of a small colorful chain. The frame represents a span of ¾ - of-an-inch across.
Strobist info:
The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights, a steady LED cube, and a warm overhead room light. The SB900s were CL/CR and fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄128 power through 24" softboxes and triggered by PocketWizard Plus Xs. The LED cube had a blue gel attached and was placed at 8-o'clock.
Lens: Helios 44M-4 58mm f2.0 with 12mm + 20mm + 36mm extension tubes attached.
Another attempt with this old manual lens. There are some C/A tracks on contours, but the total result is good. (Small white points are by light rain drops, not lens fault)
Back again folks, photography has been taking a back seat for the last few months hope to catch up on your pics over next week or so.

The Spirit of Summerland on a Christmas run.
The day I thought of photographing the Christmas Train, I went to Summerland a couple of hours early to scout out a few spots where the train went by. My original idea was to photograph it while it was stopped on the Trout Creek Bridge, but when I got there, the bridge was out of commission. So I decided somewhere along the route would be OK if I could find a spot that was well lit. No such luck. I went back to this location, and it was so dark that I almost gave up. With the help of my car's headlights and the camera on manual mode I prefocused and set the ISO to 6400, aperture at f2.8 and shutter speed to 100 and hoped I got something. In the end, I hand held the camera and took a few shots as it went by. I decided on this picture as it shows the smoke and steam really well considering how dark it was.

If you compare this shot and my last one, you can see the benefits of taking control of a shot.
In Auto the camera used ISO 6400 and 1/5 of a second with f4; the result is OK but grainy and smoothing the noise makes it look out of focus.
In manual I used ISO 200, 2.5 seconds, f4 . The difference is noticeable - but you do need a steady hand even with the image stabilisation in the camera.
I have put a link to the other shot in the comments.
