Taking empty box cars for businesses along the branch eastward toward Bozeman.

It does look like I’ve climbed out on the beam for this shot but the walkway extends out at this point. Safety first!

West bound ballast is about to bed down at Manhatten for the night and head to Pipestone for a reload in the morning.
The fire on the mountainside was in it's infancy. The 40 acre blaze moved across the ridge and turned into more than 8000 acres. Named the Bridger Foothills Fire, it consumed 28 homes, an unknown number of out buildings, and animals both wild and domestic.
Allegedly a lightening strike from a previous storm was blamed.
