This is Manfred von Richthofen, or 'The Red Baron', with Lt AF Bird of 46 Squadron RFC, whose Sopwith Pup he shot down on 3 September 1917. Anthony Fokker was there with a movie camera and this is a still from that footage.

Die "Wächter der Zeit" bereisen seit vielen Jahren Museen und Ausstellungen auf der Welt. Seit dem FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS 2011 besuchen sie die deutsche Hauptstadt. Die Zeitreisenden des FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS wirken stets mystisch auf Ihren Betrachter. Sie wandern ähnlich wie Mönche durch die Welt. Niemand weiß genau, wo sie als Nächstes auftauchen werden. Aber eins ist sicher: Die "Wächter der Zeit" waren auch beim zehnten FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS in Berlin an allen Tagen des Festivals an vielen unterschiedlichen Plätzen unterwegs. Neu waren in diese Jahr die fast drei Meter großen, weißen Wächter, die im Festival-Zentrum Potsdamer Platz sowohl Beobachter als auch Hüter von Zeit und Raum waren. Erschaffen hat die mystischen Wesen übrigens der österreichische Künstler Manfred Kielnhofer.

The "Time Guardians" tour through worldwide museums and exhibitions for many years. Since the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS 2011, they visit the German capital on a regular basis. The time traveler of the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS always seem mystical to their viewers. They walk like monks through the world. No one knows exactly where they will appear next. But one thing is certain: The "Time Guardians" also travelled at the tenth FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS in Berlin on all days of the festival at many different places. New this year were the nearly three-meter tall white guards that stood at the Festival Centre Potsdamer Platz. The Austrian artist Manfred Kielnhofer has created the mystical figures.
