Manaslu looking down at Lho at the dawning of a new day. Twilight hours provide blue and beautiful light, while still allowing the millions of stars in the sky to be seen clearly. The milky way reaches from the mountains stretching into the sky. There is a river below leading all the way down Manaslu. I was wondering which photo to post first from Nepal, and this one just felt right. I was up very early, and waking up Yaks as I climbed around 1,000 feet to a vista above the village we stayed in. The view from up here was simply phenomenal.

45-minute exposure of Manaslu, the Earth's 8th highest peak, in Nepal, the rotation of the Earth turning starlight into arcs. The onset of moonrise at the end of the exposure illuminates the mountain from the southeast. Taken at around 3am from Kermo Kharka, in the upper Buri Gandaki valley.

ce sommet avait fait la une des média peu avant notre départ pour ce trek, en raison d'une avalanche meurtrière qui a emporté un camp d'altitude faisant 9 morts dont 5 Français.
