Yesterday, they created stations at our Child Care Center to teach our youngest students about agriculture. The stations included: milking a "cow"; putting together a puzzle and learning the parts of a cow; petting a calf; petting a goat and making a goat craft; and riding a pedal tractor.

Spring is management fire season at Tallgrass Prairie NPres. We had a steady wind of 6-8 mph, with gusts up to 10 mph, when I was there - so I was surprised to see a burn going on.
As it turns out, the crew was surprised to have been asked to do a burn in those conditions. They had shut it down pretty quickly as the day progressed and the winds picked up.
