I happened upon this man eating a late breakfast on the Victoria Precinct in Oamaru, New Zealand. He shared his breakfast, serving it right off the fork to the dog. Now I ask you, does that dog look starved?

Reminded me of the man-eating plant in "Little Shop of Horrors"

; )

A moody, humid evening in Wharfedale....marred only by man-eating midges.....a mist forming in the Wharfe valley

She is a tough one

She lets her Man eat first

If other chicks are trying to stop by and eat while he is eating

Hehe, well

She comes like a lightning

Like

Swoooooooooosch

And takes a little nibble of their feathers

And off her competitors go

Wether she is jealous or just looking after her Man

Well its a bit difficult to say

I can definitely relate to looking after my Man, and I hope she does that

I hope she isn't jealous

I bet that is more like a human way of behaving

We tend to think that animals have human feelings and behave like us, but they really don't do that

But its a bit fun tho, to give them all kinds of human behaviours

The Pentecost River at the foot of the Cockburn Ranges in the Kimberley Region of Western Auistralia.

During daylight, this massive river would almost empty to wide mud flats. Towards sunset, the magic happens and the river refills until it seems it will burst its banks. Then the process reverses again.

Despite being more than 50 kilometres inland, saltwater crocodiles (ie, the man-eating variety) are abundant.

Man eating bread in Gastown, Vancouver.

Some times all you need to put "the world to rights" is a bacon bap.

A bap, at its simplest, a bread roll. At its more complicated, it is tender pillow of dough, often made with milk, lard, and butter.

Especially good for those days when soaking up last night's bad decisions is a top priority.

Any regrets you may be feeling can be replaced with the delight of an excellent sandwich.

Skógafoss' Troll

In Icelandic mythology, trolls are gigantic evil ugly dim-witted man-eating creatures that live in caves in the mountains. Some are benevolent while others are formidable monsters with a nasty temper that eat people and livestock. Trolls can only travel at night and immediately turn to stone if exposed to sunlight.

Mmm... Red lentil dahl! Salvo would love some.

A monumental sculpture by the artist KAWS on Park Avenue. The sculpture is joined by a man eating his lunch - an entire empty plaza and he chose to sit on the sculpture's pedestal.

The famous black leopard of Devon also know as the legend of "Exmoor Beast"

Sightings of black leopards have been consistently seen in and around Exmoor in the UK since the introduction of the Dangerous Wild Aninal Act in 1976!

The most recent sighting was in the Quantock hills in Somerset. Man eating leoards have been famous in the past and a famous conservationist Jim Corbett is remembered for killing the "Panar leopard" and the "leopard of Rudraprayag" which between them devoured over 500 people!.

Good morning!

💗 The belief in the protective power of the color red can be traced back to the old Chinese folklore of the Nian, a man-eating beast of ancient China who used to feed on human flesh. Discovering that the creature abhorred loud noises and the color red, the people made liberal use of the color not only in their firecrackers, but also in home decorations and clothing to protect themselves from the Nian.

Let's find the color Red in nature!

Every one understands a traditional "Scotch egg" but some of the new variations seem more gimmick than substance - squid and shrimp foam just seems weird.

This sculpture, mounted on a truck, is a recreation of an iconic 1932 photograph titled "Lunch Atop a Skyscraper". The photograph was an ode to the contribution of immigrant construction workers in building this City (NYC) and The Nation. To see the this amazing photograph follow the link below.

I can´t help myself but to think of Audrey, the man-eating plant in the "Little shop of Horrors" ;)

Hollywood made this famous in the 1991 movie, Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. I probably stood where Kevin Costner stood and bloodthirsty man-eating hounds chased a boy up into the tree. My own visit to this spot on Hadrian's Wall was slightly less thrilling, although I must admit I didn't find the Holywood version too thrilling either, even in 1991. Quite what Loxley, aka Robin Hood was doing with an immigrant Saracen so far north of his home in Sherwood Forest I could never work out. And how he got from Beachy head to Northumberland in ten minutes simply defied belief. Anyhow here is that scene by the tree, suitably blurred to make it look appropriately aged www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0RnajX2rW8

"A lifetime in ink" typically refers to the idea of having a lifetime commitment to tattoos. Getting a tattoo is a permanent decision, as the ink is embedded in the skin. Tattoos often hold personal significance and can serve as a form of self-expression or a way to commemorate important events, beliefs, or loved ones.

The phrase might also imply the accumulation of various tattoos over the course of a person's lifetime. Each tattoo could represent different experiences, milestones, or phases in one's life. Some people view their bodies as a canvas, and each tattoo tells a unique story.

No matter how close you are nobody takes any notice of a mobile phone.

A young domestic water buffalo in the kind of habitat it is most comfortable in, knee deep water with plenty to eat. They are relatively small in size especially when compared to their ancestor, the Wild Water Buffalo that is sadly considered as an endangered animal with only about 3,400 individuals known to survive, of which 90% live in India. Millions of these animals exist and their milk is richer in fat and protein than that of dairy cattle. A large feral population became established in northern Australia in the late 19th century, and there are smaller feral herds in Papua New Guinea, Tunisia and northeastern Argentina. Two types of domesticated water buffaloes are recognized, the River Buffalo of the western Indian subcontinent; and the Swamp Buffalo. Results of a phylogenetic (evolutionary development) study indicate that the river-type water buffalo probably originated in western India and was domesticated about 6,300 years ago.

These are very docile and loyal animals known to even risk their life to save the life of their owner. I have even read of incidents where these buffalos charged at man-eating tigers to save their owners, even though physically they are no match for the predator.

Good morning Flickr friends :) time to wake up and put a smile on your face ;)

They mustn't be lacking in any man-eaters' recipe, because they make human flesh better digestible.

I even claim the Austrian government is as far from cannibalism as you and me. But as to nazism I'm not so sure.

John 6:48-51

48 I am that bread of life.

49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Captured in: Smithtown, NY.

It might be the Audrey III, or perhaps a new man-eating plant from outer space, however it's definitely safe to say this image was not captured in a Little Shop of Horrors. ;)

Pictured here is a simple Sunflower that's starting to open from a rather small bud. It did have an almost menacing sci-fi alien quality to it, but should bloom into a gorgeous yellow flower in the next few days.

This image is also my entry into this week's Macro Monday theme... The topic being "line symmetry". The example found here is being reveled at the center of the image -- specifically in the head of the sunflower. If you look at the image in full size, you will see a circular seed pattern in the middle which can be marked by a diagonal line of symmetry through the center.

There are other areas of symmetry located throughout the flower as well... Since the flower is still opening, the petals are not quite in a perfect mirror arrangement just yet -- but it's certainly on its way.

HMM!

"Feed Me Seymour" is an HDR macro image constructed from 5 bracketed shots using a 1 stop differential. The shot was processed in ACR, tone mapped w/ Photomatix, and later finished in Photoshop.

PS processing also includes the use of Topaz Labs plugins -- Adjust, AI Clear, Glow, Impression plus the addition of a few textures as well.
