Mam tor and Edale with a beautiful dusting of snow this morning.
Big thank you to close friend Jon Sargissson for driving there in the very early hours.
A summer sunrise from Mam Tor, looking along the Great Ridge to Lose Hill. Peak District, Derbyshire.
My tripod was positioned for another composition on the other side of the fence, the sun was rapidly creepy up to disappear behind the cloud. No time to reposition the legs to frame up for the sun star effect . This shot was taken lying in my stomach and doing a half push up to line it up just right...uncomfy, yes...but worth it I think...
The first beams from the sun, looking along the Great Ridge to Lose Hill from Mam Tor, Peak District, Derbyshire
Sunrise up on Mam Tor, Peak District, Derbyshire
iso200 because I was doing a one handed press up trying to get the shot so needed to up the shutter speed a bit!
The sun is out, the landscape is imposing yet welcoming so get your bike, get outside and ride the open air.

The path to Peveril Castle. It is unseen up the hill to the left of this photo, but this view was much better.
Some nice pre sunrise colour at this ever popular spot.
Half term for many so understandable that it was busy up by the trig point. Only two of us down here though.
One last outing this morning before a return to work tonight. It's been a great long break seeing some amazing new locations and scenery. Roll on the next one.
This is a very popular location with local photographers and a view that many visitors to the Peak District will recognise. Looking along Rushup Edge towards the village of Barber Booth, from Mam Tor in the Peak District National Park, England. The winding road runs steeply downhill, through Barber Booth to Edale which lies off camera to the right.

I hope all of my followers have a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful new Year, this Christmas Day we decided to do a hike up Mam Tor, what with all of our family being in different tier's it's not possible to visit any of them, this was probably the best day, 5am alarm clock wasn't that bad after all, stay safe all of you.
This road really reminded me of playing with my Scalextric set when i was young :) but on a bigger scale
Scalextric is a brand of slot cars and slot car racing sets which first appeared in the late 1950s, manufactured by the English firm Minimodels. The brand is currently owned and distributed by Hornby

A glowing mist below Mam Tor in Castleton.
You can make out the old abandoned road coming down the hillside on the right.
I managed to get to a spot where I could set this Red Grouse against the outline of a snow-covered Mam Tor. I wish I'd used a smaller aperture to get more detail in the backdrop but the moment had passed before I could get the ideal settings.
Mam Tor, meaning ‘Mother Hill’, is a 517 metre high hill near Castleton in the High Peak area of Derbyshire and is one of the most famous walks in the Peak District. It sits on the edge of the Dark Peak (gritstone) and the White Peak (limestone).
Another image from an evening on the side of Mam Tor last week. I was tempted to clone out the parked cars but couldn't do it without making a mess so they get to remain!
This deserves a title change after your astute observations! 😂
Mamhunt - Well these lot certainly didn't have any problem finding her!
Looking over the village of Hathersage towards Mam Tor and the Great Ridge, from Fiddler's Elbow in the Peak District National Park, England.
I hope all of my Flickr Fam is staying safe out there, we will beat this if we follow the governments advice.
Captured on that fabulous August bank holiday weekend, weather and light like this seems a distant memory at the moment.
A 9 shot pano stitch to take in the lead in fence and the stile by the famous gate on the great ridge at Mam tor and of course everything in-between, including the beautiful inversion.

I have waited a long time for this day to finally arrive, booked the day off from the daily grind, been spending most of my weekends and evenings redecorating the house.
Happy 'Fence Friday' I guess!
Have a great weekend one and all!🍷😘
