One week old black malinois puppies.

A gorgeous portrait of Epic and me taken by Devi "Barksong" Stewart. Thanks, Devi!

For those who haven't met her yet, this is The Grimm. She started this project with me 8 years ago and while she's now nearly 10 years old, she hasn't changed a bit. She's still and over-the-top drivey and fearless Maligator (aka Belgian Malinois). While she recently retired from French Ring, we still go to training and some photos of her "working" will likely make their way into this project.

Looking forward to another year with this awesome and talented group!

Sunny the Maligator

We missed last week because I got a little behind with other photo projects. A friend asked if I would do engagement photos for her daughter and I surprised myself by not doing an awful job. lol Then I had the opportunity to do a couple of photoshoots for a malinois rescue group. I really enjoyed meeting these first time malinois owners and their dogs. Finally, this weekend, I had time to take a photo of my own maligator. You wouldn't believe how many takes this goofy shot took. Grimm would absolutely say that it was worth it for the treats alone.

I'mz not afraid of datz maligator!

Epic again :)

so often people make the assumption that the grimm is an "attack dog". "how did you teach her to bite?" i didn't teach her to bite, she's a malinois, affectionately known to some of us as maligators for good reason. so for this week's challenge of a favorite toy shot, i asked my friend to lend me a hand, or more specifically an arm with a bite sleeve. there are a couple of photos of the some of the bite work on my stream.

to see that malinois crazy eye up close . crazy ear for that matter, as well.

Sometimes a dog is the only one that can fill the void in your empty heart.

Flip Phone Photo of Blue the Maligator (might be a Mali x GSD.) He's missing his pal Zeus.

and, if Grimm has her way, my last. I have a hunch he'll be going to a new home soon. Dogs steal our hearts so quickly and while I'll be happy for Rex to find his forever home, I'll miss the big goofball. That said, The Grimm is my girl and it'll be nice to get back to my routine with my own maligator.

Epic! He smiles dorkily :)
