This was an experiment with selective colors, using Lightroom to pull different hues out.

A few weeks back I had a great day shooting with the very talented Lizzy Meow. We had a great time shooting and on the go she was looking forward to Maleficent, as was I, so this image came to be.

So to celebrate the movie release tomorrow, enjoy!

Sleeping Beauty was always my favorite fairy tale growing up, especially the Disney version. Maleficent (witch in Sleeping Beauty) was the scariest villain to me too!

Maleficent turns into a dragon and fights Mickey Mouse during the Illuminations show at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

A powerful fairy who lives in the Moors, a magical forest realm bordering a corrupt human kingdom.

I'm just obsessed with this doll: she's simply perfect💜💜💜 Absolutely stunning doll incarnation of my most favorite Disney villain😈🔥✨

I've had these girls for a while now, but only now got to taking photos. :P Overall, I got them all for a great deal, so why not? I ended up redoing Snow's and Cindy's hair ( Cindy's hair was that awful Lady Gaga bow hair and Snow's looked odd pulled back.) I really miss the quality Mattel put into their dolls back in the 90's; all the lush fabrics, underskirts, bloomers, stockings, and they encouraged people to debox the dolls. Ah, the good old days. ;)

I caught this WICKED light on the Olympic Mountains several years ago. This peak looked primeval with all of it's jagged peaks dripping blood red just before dark.

Today, we are back at the Magic Kingdom to photograph the new Festival Of Fantasy Parade. Disney did an great job with this parade by designing some pretty awesome floats. It was nice to see a new parade after so many years of seeing the same one over and over. On our last trip, I was lucky enough to get into the VIP viewing area which allowed for some really cool shots. Where do you like to stand for the parade to get your awesome shots? Have a magical day!

Thank You!

The new Disney Minifigure Series arrived early (for once!) at my Walmart and I was able to find the one minifigure I wanted most very easily (simply feeling for her dress piece). I have always loved the look of Maleificent so had to get her and take a pic of her. :)

I look forward to looking for Aladdin and the Gene next as I have always loved that movie. :)

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Happy Halloween everyone!

A pet peeve of mine is anthropomorphizing animals and attributing to them human emotions, sentiments and values. Not only is this very anthropocentric and narrow minded, it also cheapens the rich, amazing evolutionary journey these animals have trekked to get to their present form. So when my guide/understudy, a young, local Kichwa took me aback by saying that this grasshopper looked like Angelina Jolie's Maleficent, I felt the need to sit him down and give him a stern talking to. "You do realize that that movie only got 50% on rotten tomatoes, it's just your standard hollywood...I mean, the grasshopper's antennae have evolved over evolutionary time to appear as they do. Sometimes the odd shape is to disrupt a predator's search image, other times they serve a specific function, beyond the traditional sensory role. It is only through observation, study, and a rigorous application of the scientific method that we can tease out each animal's complicated story. And if you want to see a real movie, then go see Citizen Kane!" - I finished at nearly fever pitch, slightly traumatizing him.
