An idiosyncratic interplay of curves and edges, shimmering plaster and seemingly randomly distributed, colourfully framed windows characterises the image of a residential building on Badenerstrasse in Zurich by the architects Camenzind Evolution. The striking and architecturally superior building with the name "KISS" - which stands for "Uncompromising. Individual. Sweet. Sauer." - houses 46 individually designed maisonette flats. I photographed the façade in autumn 2020. I will soon be back in Zurich.

I took an afternoon stroll in the spring sunshine the other day, and I walked past this beautiful apricot rose loom which is on a bush which is thriving in the well maintained garden of a stylish 1920s Art Deco stuccoed brick maisonette villa. She was hanging her head, protecting herself from the sunshine, or perhaps she was just being shy. Either way, I managed to capture her beauty by kneeling down before her and snapping away.
Melbourne has experienced a colder and wetter than average winter this year, which is now bleeding well and truly into a wetter and greyer than average spring, however on the rare sunny days we are currently getting, the showing of flowers and blossoms is beautiful.
This small house whas built towards1960 at the foot of the morne Larcher with fot the background the diamond rock by Medart ARIBBOT, a martinique of congolese father gifted for artitistics activities. This work has done after his return of the prison. They tell that hi was sent to prison because of the death of the colonel COPPENS occured during the electoral riots in 1925.He was accused of the création of the bust of the colonel brandished by the crowd during this events.
It's easier than ever to get rich! Well, sort of anyway! You won't even have to work 127 hours a week! All you need to do is win the lottery.... to be honest, that isn't very likely to happen.. but you can definitely play the gachas and win EVERY TIME! The "Money Talks" gacha from Since1975 at Gacha Garden will leave you rolling in the dough! Playing the gacha is easier obviously, and even though you can't really translate the SL gacha wins to RL piles of money, it sure is fun to bathe in this in SL! I'll be over here, dreaming...

I took an afternoon stroll in the beautiful spring sunshine today, and I walked past this beautiful apricot rose bloom which is on a bush which is thriving in the well maintained garden of a stylish 1920s Art Deco stuccoed brick maisonette villa. She was gazing up to the bright blue skies, basking in the sunshine, waiting to be noticed. I couldn't help but do so, and I had to capture her beauty.
Yes, spring is now well and truly in the air, as winter in Melbourne fades into memory... well maybe not quite... it is supposed to be cold and raining tomorrow. All the more reason to get out in the glorious sunshine whilst it's out.

Centre Point is a building in Central London, comprising a 33-storey tower; a 9-storey block to the east including shops, offices, retail units and maisonettes; and a linking block between the two at first-floor level. It occupies 101–103 New Oxford Street and 5–24 St Giles High Street, WC1, with a frontage also to Charing Cross Road, close to St Giles Circus and almost directly above Tottenham Court Road Underground station.
The building is 117 m (385 ft) high, has 34 floors and 27,180 m2 (292,563 sq ft) of floor space. Constructed from 1963 to 1966, it was one of the first skyscrapers in London. It stood empty from its completion until 1975 and was briefly occupied by housing activists in 1974. Since 1995 it has been a Grade II listed building. In 2015 it was converted from office space to luxury flats.

Modernist residential building in Lambeth, alongside St Thomas's Hospital. Completed in 1957.
Interestingly the design (by principal architect Leslie G. Creed) features maisonettes on the left side and flats on the right, linked by the shared staircase.
Sadly Canterbury House will be demolished as part of a wider redevelopment of this area of land.
My daughters first place in Royston was lovely maisonette overlooking Therfield Heath. The heath is a SSSI a sprawling hilly chalk grassland bordered by woods, and is a magnet to many in the area who long for a bit of space. Within seconds I would be on the heath with the dogs, but now she has moved to a house the other end of Royston it takes 20 minute walk to get on the heath. I still head there every morning with the dogs and do a similar walk to the one I did when she was just across the road, it’s longer but now I have alternatives. Leading off the heath are some great footpaths, with a bit of OS knowledge and a little common practised trespass I can link these paths making my way back to my daughters. It’s a longer route but bonny all the same and this I did last Monday on a cold bright morning. I love these tree lined paths, and I’m always looking for a photograph as the dappled light catches my imagination but they never come to much. I saw the potential of this and after much to-ing and fro-ing removing untidy fallen branches my keen photo eye had missed previously ushering the dogs back again I eventually got the final photo. This was not straight forward as I was using a long lens and it was about 10 metres between my position and the copper leaves. The dogs were getting pretty niffed on this pointless back and forth already hungry for their breakfast biscuits, but I feel it was worth it in the end even if they don’t.

I’m back and so is my photography. It was great to get away for a few days to see my daughter, playing with little Jesse my grandson was just the tonic I needed, and with the dog still needing there walks I didn’t half get my steps in. My daughter lives in a nice maisonette very close to Therfield Heath, it’s a fantastic location, the dogs love it, and so do I. The dog walks gave me the opportunity to refresh my joy in photography, I was taking photos of everything and nothing. Talking about where my daughter lives, nice as it is, it’s now too small for there them and Jesse would love a garden, so they are planning to move to a house not to far away. Everything fell into place over a month ago with getting a buyer for their place, and having an offer on an idea house excepted. So here is I travelling down to see her thinking this is probably the last time we stay at her current place, then the bombshell phone call, my daughter in tears her buyer has pulled out. This after surveyors, new mortgage arranged, instructions to solicitors, and guy pulls out saying he’s found another place. The buyer guy had already indicated he was in no rush, even so everything was moving OK, with no chain obstructions on either side. My daughter even offered to get out sooner, but there was no persuading this guy, his excuses were fragile, his mind made up, my daughter was heart broken. At least we were in the right place to help to cheer them up, relax and have some laughs. How could this guy do this! How does our house buying system allow this! We now have our fingers crossed that they can find a new buyer pretty quick or they will lose the house they’re after.
Tyneside structures. Newcastle housing, looking up to the 'Byker Wall, a name sometimes given to the whole of the estate, but which really applies only to the high rise blocks seen at the top. The 620 maisonettes that form the actual wall were built with little view to the north, where it was intended that a motorway would be built on that side (it wasn't), but with extensive views across the Tyne to Gateshead and County Durham. The wall would also provide a sound barrier for the larger numbers of low rise dwellings at lower levels.
The Byker estate was built between 1969 and 1982, but the nearer blocks are all of later date. Most of the development is in the area known as Walker, which extends along the river bank, with steep connecting roads. The steepness of the roads led to a local saying, 'you can bike from Byker to Walker, but you have to walk from Walker to Byker'.
The Barbican Estate, or simply Barbican, is a residential complex of around 2,000 flats, maisonettes and houses in central London, England, within the City of London. It is in an area devastated by World War II bombings. The development also contains a number of businesses, a restaurant/canteen, an art gallery and a theatre.
The Barbican Complex is a prominent example of British brutalist architecture and is Grade II listed as a whole.
"Eleven-storey modern Brutalist multi-storey 'slab' block of flats designed by Aberdeen City Architects Department, under the supervision of George McIntosh Keith (Chief Architect) in 1959-1963 for the Aberdeen Housing Committee. The project architect was John Pressley. The building contractor was the Aberdeen firm, W J Anderson. The block is oriented on a north-south axis and is located in a built up inner urban area with two-storey low-rise modern buildings in the immediate setting."
You can currently buy a liveable 2 bedroom maisonette here for £50k, only a short walk from the centre of town.

Through the Wind’s Trance
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
Here are the lost waves
Reaching to the shore
With the invisible craves
With what each man is for
Rasping the sands time sea
From nocturnal struggle
Forever in the night to be
As a performing obstacle
Penetrating every silence
From lost indistinct rise
Through the wind's trance
The hidden - in its disguise
Innumerable bizarre so pure
The seeds from buried earth
That to the people will lure
To give their missing - its birth
Hear the voice of the land
That chooses roots to be born
Invincible waves to understand
Between each contrasts it's torn
Circulating the current song
From numerous convey of hope
To struggle and rises so strong
Of succeeding newborn zest lope
