Rather late in uploading!
I stopped taking photos in November 2024, but started again on & off in April. The majority of them went in the bin once I uploaded them to the laptop.
This set just about made the grade.
Roast lamb, gratin dauphinois, carrots and leaks. Served with red currant jelly. Cooked my me and delicious.

More at the Food For Thought cafe!
"Food for Thought is a quirky little indie diner where you can get great comfort food at a fair price, have fascinating conversations, find new friends and discover simple ways to give back to the local and global community.
We believe in serving the community. Part of Food for Thought’s profits go into social causes that we support - including School of Thought’s Financial Aid Scheme for underprivileged students. Tap water is also served free here but you have the option to donate to international well-building projects instead so that other people may have free water someday as well. We also try to work as much as possible with local farmers, local cottage industries and collectives to support small businesses with a heart. "
At the end we had this, a very thin layer of pastry at the bottom with apple rings soaked in something very good and wonderful ice-cream on top.
We are now recovering and have no intension of having anything else to eat this evening!

The main course was veal in a superb sauce with small roast potatoes and some watercress.
I'm sure that my Mum used to make a dish very similar to this when we were younger.

Friends of ours are in Brittany at the moment having a holiday with their son. They came over to Perros today and took us out to lunch at "La Crémaillère" our local restaurant. Well worth eating there, great food and excellent service.
This was my main course, it was cod with artichoke with other veg in a most delicious sauce.
I forgot to note down its correct name, due to enjoying the company of good friends and having some scrumptious food to eat.

Roast duck, roast potatoes and a mixed stir fry. As usual cooked beautifully by Graham and of course we both ate it all.
This is also my first entry to the 2016: one photo a day group. Why did I choose to start in a Leap Year!!

Our special lunch for today.
We both forgot to buy something for starters, so we boiled up some eggs and Graham made one of his special sauces to go with them. Jolly tasty and not too filling.
It was then roast pork, with roast potatoes leeks and cauliflower, served with apple sauce and gravy for me.
All very tasty and we've got lots of extra treats for this evening.

Join the fun here, FOODcember 2014 building challenge. We all love fried chicken so much, we usually eat fried chicken with rice and chili sauce though :) …and KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is the largest fast food chain brand by far in Indonesia, my home country. As far as I know, even our McDonalds biggest sales are from fried chicken not burgers :D

It was very tasty.

To me, this resembles a rose or a remembrance candle flame.
The plated foods are sweet, symbolizing a Sweet New Year.

Mike and Graham both had this for their main course and both of them said it was very good.
Excuse the lack of photos of all the courses and different meals we all had. I was having a rather poor camera day, but was also enjoying an excellent meal and good company.

13th September 2018:
Julie and Mike, friends of ours are over in St. Malo for a short break. They very kindly spent 2½ hours driving over to Perros to take us out to lunch.
Julie was one of my tutors when I did my further education studies and soon became my Mentor and friend. We worked out we'd known each other for over 40 years while having lunch today.
This was my main course, scallops and prawns wrapped in pastry with delicious vegetables and sauce. Served with courgette, broccoli and rice.
I took a lot more photos, but the light was causing horrible problems and this was probably the best one I got, sadly.

Peking duck is a classic of Beijing cuisine and has extra crispy and shiny skin and is usually served in very thin slices and wrapped in some form of crepe. Using chicken is certainly untraditional but will give you similar results at home. The chicken is coated in a sweet sauce that will produce that iconic shiny and crisp skin. You can serve it in a tortilla with lots of scallions or eat it as is! This will really change up your ordinary chicken dinners for the better!

The main course: sliced turkey breast (with cranberry sauce), mashed potatoes (and gravy), green bean casserole, and cornbread dressing. Our meal was prepared by the staff of the Carriage House and hand-delivered to our car.
Pan fried scallops, roasted cauliflower, lentils, trumpet mushrooms, cauliflower puree, and eggplant puree. Delicious!

13th July 2017:
My sister and brother-in-law did an unscheduled stop off while on their way down to the South of France today.
They managed at the last minute to get a reservation at the hotel they stayed in 2 years ago and Graham and I walked down there this evening to have dinner with them.
A delightful hotel that has an excellent menu. This was my main course. It was on the menu as a "Bouillabaisse de la maison." Sadly it wasn't as good as either I or Kevin had hoped, good but not spectacular.
My starter and pudding made up for it though and spending some time with Sarah and Kevin was great.
We're meeting for coffee in the morning before they set off South.
If anyone wonders why on earth I'm uploading this at 4.30 in the morning, it's simple ... Sarah and I both asked for a decaffeinated coffee at the end of our meal. It wasn't decaffeinated and I've not been to sleep. :0(

Depending on the size of your brisket it may take 4 hours to bake it so this is definitely a weekend recipe. The left-over brisket can be used in baked beans. You can also freeze it since it's just as good defrosted if you want a quick weekend lunch.

When it comes to photographing female sex appeal, Reutlinger takes the cake, with the ice cream, the whipped cream, and the cherry on top thrown in. I'm not sure I see anything wrong with that.
It will take several hours to cook this stew. But it is worth waiting! Tender beef with fine Guinness flavor is a real autumn meal. Don't forget about the garnish. Potatoes or buckwheat will be the best.
Cook with me in my blog set meal.
