ZEN MAGNETS - Neodymium Magnetic Balls (@1521) - Space Battleship Yamato - Work In Progress
Added more detailing, fixed 3rd rear front turret location, added rear fins, shaped lower hull and front bottom section.
Continuing design concept. This stage used @1521 and is utilizing the same process as the Canard Fighter of layering coupled and linked lines of magnets to achieve the desired shape and volume. This is basically solid, building from the inside out.

Thunderbird 2 requires 637 Zen Magnets (or equivalent neodymium balls) to make. A little less that 3 sets of 216.

Thunderbird 2 is one of the famous International Rescue ships from Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's brilliant Supermarionation special effects landmark show Thunderbirds circa 1960's. It was a heavy transporter ... characterized by its interchangeable modular cargo pods that filled the center body section . This design was the precursor to Space 1999's Eagle transport ship.

Decorative magnet for which I used paper folded into special origami model - star Mathilda. The magnet can hold two sheets (A4) of copy paper.
Original origami model which I used here is called "star Mathilda". It was designed by me some years ago. It uses repeating pattern, so you can continue and make another smaller star on top. It is quite difficult to fold especially from small paper.
I folded them from 7,5 cm squares of special patterned japanese paper.

My Random Oval Magnet Project (ROMP) is a free art project where i paint (mostly spray paint with stencils) 4"x6" oval magnets and then place them on random vehicles in my neighborhoods. Mostly in West Asheville - which is what WAVL stands for (West Asheville) - and encourage people to swap and put them on different vehicles. I also place them on various metal objects around town for those who want to pick them up for themselves.

I hit the magnet jackpot! I recieved my package of beautiful magnets from Dawn - wolfmom2ac and I just love them! It was fun to get three different kinds. Perfectly fussy cut button magnets, bottle caps with fabric inside and she made the pears I had in my mosaic! Perfect! I also love the little bling she added. THANK YOU Dawn!
