Monster Magnet in concerto al Live Club di Trezzo sull'Adda foto di Andrea Ripamonti per www.rockon.it
April 24: The other day I stumbled on a short talk at the 2009 TED conference by a climber named Matthew Childs, in which he outlines some principles of rock climbing that can be applied to everyday life. Like: Don't let go! But when you have to--because you find yourself falling--know how to let go. A few others: Hesitation is bad (momentum is good); Have a plan to make it all the way to the top; Maintain focus; Know how to rest; Don't let fear take over; and Strength doesn't ensure success (rather, finesse and balance count for a lot).
Hearing him talk made me a little nostalgic. The last time I went climbing was in November, just before my partner and I went our separate ways. If we hadn't done that, right about now I'd be getting jazzed up about an upcoming trip--since we always did something in May. Alaska a couple of times, and otherwise some nice road trips (last year was the Pacific Northwest). So now I have to scare me up some new climbing partners (a few of the guys on my SAR team climb--we just need to coordinate) and GET OUT THERE. In the meantime, I have these silly magnets on my fridge to remind me that climbing IS out there for me, if I seek it out; and that perseverance, planning, keeping up momentum and focus, knowing when to take a break, and--perhaps especially--knowing how to let go are critical skills in all areas of life.
February 23, 2016 - Refrigerator magnet that looks like a stereo. My wife and I bought this at a mall in Gaithersburg, MD the day after our wedding. At the time when you pushed the button it played music, that is no longer the case.
On our fridge. I personally did not alter the location of the magnets. They happened to be this way when I got there ;)
Note the spike starting at 2/14. They're from the figures in the magnet packs, which yielded $1050.83 in just the past three days with a sizable remainder in inventory and leftover lightsabers.
In terms of profit, that's an estimated $400 in addition to leftover lightsabers and magnet bricks, which I'll tack to my fridge and put my old minifigs on display.
All this resulted from over 50 magnet packs, which cost over $800 of investment.
Once again my speculation has not come up short. I'm not sure what I'll do with an extra $400. I'll start with pre-ordering Resident Evil 5 and paying off some Bricklink orders on my upcoming projects. The remainder will go towards investments in future sales.
Uses 4137 Zen Magnets, although the shape can be made larger or smaller by altering the edge length of the frames, or the connection between them.
Uses the FCC-8 lattice because I like this lattice. :)
Also as a note, the shape is very stable, even for the FCC-8 lattice.
This magnet paper doll evokes childhood memories of playing typical paper doll.
This set includes “sasiko” doll and 3 outfits with accessories printing from my original artwork.
It is printed on paper, adhered onto magnetic sheet and laminated with waterproof matte sticker on the surface.
You can liven your doll and outfits by painting with colored pen (except permanent one) and wipe off with damp cotton.
It measures approximately 8-1/2” (21 cm.) x 11-1/2” (29.50 cm.)
Each piece is die-cut so you can simply peel doll and outfits from the magnetic sheet.

Dodge Viper SRT 10 Final Edition, Napier - 2015
This is No.15 of 50 Final Edition Vipers, in fact it's one of only 18 cabriolet versions - so a very special car. I'm a huge fan of the Viper, all Vipers, I love their over-the-top-ness, they have an 8.4l V10, but also probably because the 1st generation came out when I was about 11... These were released in 2010 to celebrate the end of production of the 4th generation, the generation that conquered the Nurburgring!
