2001 I got new years wishes "lots of great points of attractivity": a box with a magnet and lots of iron filings.
600 magnets. Each 20-magnet pentagon has a 30-magnet pentagonal pyramid mounted on it. This is the standard 50-magnet pentagon unit. Magnet poles are aligned parallel to the perimeter of each pentagon. Adjacent pentagons have poles aligned in the same direction at the edges (as evidenced by square instead of triangular patterns at the edges).

felt magnets handmade by me. first felties I made in a long while. these are small, 1-2 inches max. the hedgehog was hard to make as the edges were prone to fray but it looks good for a first try :) I'm gonna add a squirrel and an acorn to complete the set.
I went to the Takis exhibition at Tate Modern today.
Panayiotis Vassilakis, born 1925 (known as Takis) creates sculptures using magnets, lights and electronic components. Many, like this one, move. A member of staff sets the large magnets in motion and the smaller ones respond.

We collect a magnet from every place we go. Magnets are easy to pack and don't cost as much as some souvenirs. Plus they are great conversation starters and great memories. Now that we have filled up the surface of our refrigerator, we have started covering the metal doors on the kitchen cabinets. 3/15/12

I was in San Diego finding around the souvenirs for my friends and I found
this funny magnet says koalafornia. I definitely bought it for myself.
Step 2: Use a butter knife, or other ferromagnetic item, to determine exactly where the magnet is embedded in the flap.
