(June 2022) CAPE MAY – You won’t want to miss family fun with steamed crabs, local and regional craft beers and food vendors, wine, spirits and all-day family entertainment during one of Cape May’s most popular summertime events — the Craft Beer & Crab Festival, Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate. The festival is presented by Cape May MAC (Museums+Arts+Culture) and sponsored by PNC Bank.
Come to the Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., and stretch out on your lawn chair or relax under the tent during this all-day festival that celebrates the best of summer in Cape May and was named one of the 5 Best NJ Summer Festivals by CBS NY.
Admission to the grounds is free and free parking is available off site at the Cape May Elementary School, 921 Lafayette St. A free trolley shuttle will operate from the Washington Street Mall Information Booth at Ocean Street to the estate throughout the day. There will be a charge for crabs, food, beverages and some activities. Proceeds of the event benefit Cape May MAC educational outreach programs.
Have fun cracking open freshly steamed crabs and savor these seaside favorites. Choose from a variety of food items for purchase from food truck vendors, including Jonathan’s Harbor, Mermaid Mutanier, Gaiss’ Market, Bake ’n Bacon, House of Cupcakes, Executive Catering. Empanada Mama, Crespella, Smoker & Adel and Matt’s Family BBQ, along with Pirate Pete’s Soda.

Sean K. Preston will play from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Preston delivers a soulful, driving brand of funk and soul with a little Southern flavor that gets audiences moving. His music draws heavily on a variety of influences including the blues and classic heartbreak of Country & Western music from the ’40s through the ’70s, along with rock’n’roll and the lyrical sophistication of musical poets like Bob Dylan and Nick Cave. Preston is inspired by the raw energy of punk and the spirituality of mountain gospel music. His own songs range from delicate laments and lullabies to fiery sermons and confessions. www.seankpreston.com/

Fashion Show Mall on The Strip in Las Vegas normally has a fashion show every weekend. For December they switch that to a chorus girl type performance - the one in 2012 was called in Believe in Magic - a story about a family that just moved to Las Vegas and missed snow (I can relate to that). The young girl's dream come true and I suspect Santa had a pretty good evening too, considering all the leggy lasses surrounding him!

Week three ended with a blast. It was very exciting to have all of our Willows family members join us for our visiting day. We hope you had as much fun as we did. The children really enjoyed the magic show. Also, the campers thoroughly had fun making delicious chocolate chip cookies in cooking.
We can’t believe that four wonderful weeks have flown by. Although the temperature rose and the rain fell, the fun and excitement continued. This week’s theme was “Wild, Wild, Willows.” The Tadpoles and Minnows created horseshoe picture frames. In Ceramics, the campers enjoyed making flip flops out of clay.
Picture day for The Willows was a huge success as the campers and staff had big smiles on their faces. Trick or Treat for Summer Sweets was really great. The campers looked marvelous in their costumes and proudly walked in the parade. The week ended with Waterworld. Everyone had fun driving bumper cars and climbing the obstacle course.
