The Federal Territory Mosque or Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan is a major mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located near MATRADE complex and the Federal Government Complex off Jalan Duta.

The Federal Territory Mosque was constructed between 1998 and 2000. It is situated on a five hectare site near the Government Office Complex along Jalan Duta. The Wilayah Persekutuan (Federal Territory) Mosque was opened to the public on October 25, 2000 and was officiated by the 12th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Almarhum Syed Putra Jamalulail. It is the 44th mosque built by the Government within the city limits. The mosque can accommodate 17,000 worshippers at any one time.

The mosque's design is a blend of Ottoman and Malay architectural styles, heavily influenced by the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. It has 22 domes made from a composite material of glass fibre fabric mixed with epoxy resin to make it durable and light.

I snapped this stunning photo of the Milky Way rising over Frosty Drew Observatory on Saturday, April 9, 2016. The bright summer Milky Way starts to rise in the early morning during April and will continue to rock well into the summer. I shot this at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, RI.

This is a dual-iso shot from Trastevere. It is a single shot, I obtain double ISO exposure thanks to Magic Lantern custom firmware.

The base ISO is set at 1600. The "recovery ISO" at 100 allows high lights accuracy.

I captured this shot of NGC 2024 - The Flame Nebula on Sunday morning at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, RI. Found just to the side of Alnitak, the left most star in Orion's belt, the Flame contains molecular hydrogen gas that is being ionized by intense ultraviolet light from Alnitak. The Nebula contains a cluster of young stars and resides at 1,350 light years distant.

Here's a stunning photo I captured of the Harvest Moon last night at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, RI. We had a fabulous night of clear skies and cool autumn-live temps. Certainly a beautiful night to be out under the Moon.

I did another timelapse despite of the weather. The Moon was full at 99.9% and so bright. Then the fog came very fast, and the clouds which sucked the fog and obscured the Moon. I'm happy because there is a cat on the road at the start of the video, and a shooting star a little bit after the cat (top left). Perhaps an orionid, or a taurid because it seems to come from the Moon and the Moon is in Taurus constellation. Not easy to spot with such weather but I have thought that was interesting to share for all these little things from a rural December night in Belgium. :-)

This image is an excerpt from a sky survey I did in 2014 in southern Rhode Island. In the image the teapot asterism in the constellation Sagittarius is visible alongside the Milky Way galactic nucleus. Along the galactic plane, Messer 8, and Messier 20 stand out brightly, with Messier 22 blazing like a bright star to the top left of the asterism.

Last night (February 10, 2017) I was expecting clouds with no eclipse. Instead I got clear skies for the eclipse followed by a 22º halo around the eclipse. Score! I shot this at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, RI during the penumbral lunar eclipse.

Perdimos el camino en la noche y no encontramos el lugar. Gracias a eso aparecio este hermoso paisaje.

Launched 20 years ago the Infinity Space station has now reached the furthest a man made object has ever reached. 10 light years away. After 4 failed attempts the mission was on the brink of being scrapped. Launched 20 years ago and still sending signals back to earth it has accomplished more than anyone ever thought.

this is an old 3 bracket hdr, done with the new workflow i'm studying these days. The result is pretty natural compared to the old result in photomatix

I asked for a friendly cow-laboration tonight, and the world ended in a few seconds! When I regained my spirits, it was frozen everywhere. It remained the Moon, very close to the Earth, and Mars also. Some bovine survivalists, a poor Christmas LED garland, a kind of light trail at the very end. The comet of one hundred million years!

This is a 35 minute timelapse shot of Bodie Island lighthouse (taken from 10:35 to 11:10 PM on 7/7/13). The 11mm lens distorts the image, but it adds an eerie vertigo effect.

Sígueme en mi nuevo blog (Follow me on my new blog): javiergirbes.blogspot.com.es/

Revelado

A quiet cold night in the New Mexico wilderness is a experience that is one of a kind. So much to see and explore.

This is a image stack of about 700 images taken on the night of December 27. The clear sky made the image perfect but as the temperature started to drop the edges of the gear tolerances were hit.

A great night and a wonderful image to share. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I do the adventure.

The Eyeskraper Space Station was to be the 1st mission to the outer universe. The mission failed though. After 2 light years away there was an unseen gravity pull. This was from the galaxy tripon. The gravity pull sent the Space station on a collision course to a black hole, were it stopped sending back a signal in Jan 7 3007.

I apologise for misleading. It doesn't look nothing in comparison to this image when you are there , So don't take it as if your going to see this.. SPECTRA lights up Aberdeen city centre. Remember not to wait more than 5 mins as it does not get any better. Just a repeat that goes round and round..

#SPECTRA , #Aberdeen — at Spectra Festival.

After spme ordinary weather, it was a fabulous clear night.

I avoided the Magic Lantern April Fool's prank long enough to shoot a short series. There's some significant lens flare, but that's how it is with the fisheye.
