Filling the empty spaces with magic monkeys.
The first indoor shopping mall in Austin, Texas, opened in the 1970s. Now it's mostly vacant with no major anchor department stores left. Austin Community College has bought the whole thing and will make it into classroom space, but some little stores survive. I dropped in today to take a look and take photos. It turned into an interesting adventure as I was literally led out of the door by some overzealous security guards who photographed (irony!) my license plate and then followed me for a mile or so away as I drove away. I did some quick research and discovered they can kick people out for taking photos, but they can't keep you from shooting or displaying the photos. Despite private ownership, a shopping mall is a public place.

Last night, I helped my friend Ling move a crazy-ass 42-inch plasma TV from her boyfriend's apartment to hers. (Why didn't HE move it? Good question. He was outta town, the dirty bugger, and she needed it moved NOW.)
Anyway, when I got to her place, she had a great little stovetop. A 1970s Magic Chef range with a "Whistling Kettle" resting atop. It was a scene straight out of childhood. I loved it.
I love fake woodgrain anything, so I had to get a photo.
Was this photo worth the hassle of schlepping a massive TV from Bed-Stuy to the Upper East Side? I don't know. But I'm happy to have taken it.
Foto tirada bem no início do amanhecer em janeiro de 2000. Foi preciso usar o parapeito da janela como tripé, e filme 800 ASA Kodak. Entre o início da exposição e o fim o rio moveu os barquinhos causando este efeito estática x movimento.

My Disney details collection is a group of photos that represents the ideals and magic of what creates Disney World and Disneyland. These photos may be of a particular ride or place at either Disney World or Disneyland... but they also could be a close-up object... Remember, Disney is in the details.
I got a second Magic Moves Barbie. I just had two of their body suits so one of them gets to wear the original outfit and another gets to wear the cool skirt that I think goes with their stuff perfectly :) The fun part about them not having their original earrings was giving them fun earrings I found that matched their outfits instead! They are so pretty!
