Can't say I ever wanted to ttry it on my own, having been very satisfied using natural hones to hone and finish my straight razor edges, but a fellow coticuler, Gary Haywood has asked me on a few occasions, if I have ever shaved off a Naniwa 12 K edge, claiming they're a pretty good edge, and Gary lays down the best coticule edge on a straight razor, I've ever tried, so when he tells me I ought to try a Naniwa 12 K edge, I listened

It probably took better than a year to get here but I finally broke down and acquired this hone. Once in a while I would peruse the classifieds on SRP for one, but no such luck so I bought this one new from Brad Maggard, from his online shaving shop, www.maggardrazors.com/

Maggard razors is also a brick and mortar store, but is located too far away for me to go to (Adrian MI). Being an ex-pat from Detroit, although I'd like to return to do some visiting (I would stop and see you too PJ=:-), I have no current plans for a swing by the Great Lakes State, so the next best thing was to order this hone from his online store

I couldn't believe how fast this hone got to me. I ordered it early this past Saturday. Brad's wife Casie had it in the mail (literally) within hours, using the USPS, shipped Priority (and at N/C to boot), along with the bare schale set you see pictured with the hone, and I received the hone today, Tuesday, less than 48 hours later.
