...Schneeballschlacht, Schlittschuh laufen, hachja, im Winter wird man wieder zum Kind.
Snowman build, snowball fight, ice skating, ohyes in winter you become a child again
... Talk to the hand. Didn't see that the hand needed to be more prominent for the Smile on Saturday theme.
One of my larger toy props, which has big enough hands, holding a tiny aeroplane button.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)
if a tree could smile, well, I think...
Dickerson swamp, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio. unedited image.
HFF! Taken through the front passenger side of a car window. This plant took root on a street that has a lot of construction happening. The conditions could not be more inhospitable but it showed it’s resilience and survival skills.

HNFF!! Since I'm loving fall this week and my friend Jeremy posted his shot www.flickr.com/photos/craptasticphotog/3039124606/ that I loved so much! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :) Thanks Jerm!
.. a drummer in the street
... this intense street artist with great dexterity, banging heavily on his cans, and then suddenly watches as his "hi-hat piece" rolls away.....
This is a compilation of the head shots I've been taking of my friends over the last month. Thanks to those who's participated!

Puffins are a beautiful bird with an absurdly colourful large beak. Their young are called Pufflings and at the end of the breeding season, in August, the adults leave. They fly away to sea to spend the rest of the year until next breeding season, when they return to land.
This bird was exercising it's wings prior to throwing itself off the cliff and onwards towards the sea. I'm not sure if it was an adult or a fledgling, but am assuming an adult. There were only a few birds left when we visited and none on the cliffs in the Shetland Islands. I took along my big 100-400mm lens for this moment. I was so happy to see these birds up close enough to photograph. For the Through the Lens Week 36 theme of "Made me smile"
Hanging art in space with a reflection!
The works are a response to the poem of Arnon Grunberg.
The poem is about a young man and a prostitute.
The poem starts like this: [free translation by me]

the one on the right is the one that was rolling, to my amazement it then sat up , more like a dog, had never seen anything like it. it wasn't just a fluke moment, he did sit there in that buddha position for a few minutes!

People don't notice us, they never see,
Under their noses a Womble may be.
We womble by night and we womble by day,
Looking for litter to trundle away.
We're so incredibly, utterly devious
Making the most of everything.
Even bottles and tins.
Pick up the pieces and make them into something new,
Is what we do!
-The Womble Song
Bungo Balla! Since the Womble Picnic Umbrella was only 3 inches tall, I had to crawl on wet grass to get this shot. And when I was done, I turned to get up, and look what I found!
Have a nice Thursday!
I don't do selfies and I don't take pictures in Ladies loos. However, in the case of the Ivy Asia in Brighton. I've made an exception. I'm reliably informed that there's a Samurai in the Gents, only flowers and butterflies in the very tasteful Ladies!
just a re-edited shot but thought id choose a funny one as wanted to share a funny story!
the other day i was putting some clothes away and i noticed my kitty playing with a string
the string was from an attack alarm i have, and just then everything went into slow motion - my cat pulled on the string, the string came out, the alarm went off, the cat freaked out and ran off with the string on his paw! i chased the already freaking cat who became more panicked as i chased him eventually retrieving the string and acquiring a few wounds in the process! i eventually got the string thing back in and stopped the alarm but not without going partially deaf first!! fun day!
PLEASE NO GROUP INVITES OR AWARDS WITH FLASHY BADGES
Taken with my iPhone 4s. Four colored plastic glass with a bit of a ripple pattern, an overhead lighting fixture, and a little idle time. Not to mention some good conversation in the background. You know... of the 'What are you doing?' variety.
Of course it's not pristine studio lighting. And of course it's not meant to be printed out large and framed over the couch. However... it was a vibrantly colorful moment on an otherwise dark and rainy Saturday evening. A little summer color in it's own right. It made me smile as I arranged the glasses as I wanted them... and that's enough reason for me to save it for another dark and rainy day.
