Pollinator Pom-Pom—the buttonbush blossom bringing full cheer to bees, butterflies, and the occasional macro photographer. Nature’s fluffiest fan favorite.

Hay que fijarse muy bien para verlo ya que es un escarabajo muy pequeño, pero como veis bastante vistoso.
Cal fixar-se molt bé per a veure-ho ja que és un escarabat molt xicotet, però com veieu bastant vistós.
You have to look very closely to see it since it is a very small beetle, but as you can see, it is quite showy.

Pine cones are a quick and easy subject to shoot at home, so we thought we would take a look at how to get some cool and creative shots from a couple of pine cones in our latest tutorial video.
Watch it here - youtu.be/KyF3I8vjrNI
A lot of you may have seen the pine cone shot on our homepage, it's one of our favourite shots to demonstrate what the Adaptalux Studio can do. We used the same pine cone (and a new one) to get a few more interesting shots.
A shot like this is achieved by pointing two coloured Lighting Arms across each other, shining onto the pine cone. You can see more about the setup in the video or the blog post here - bit.ly/adaptaluxpines
The coloured lights shine off the spines of the pine cones really well. Depending on the angle of the camera and the lights, they can create some amazing highlights along the ridges of each spine and shadows deep in the pine cone where the light can't reach.
For this shot, we used an amber and blue Lighting Arm with a Diffuser to create a soft light in the front, with a harsh, almost fire-like glow coming from behind. Shooting along the length of the pine cone like this forces the background out of focus and makes the shot look even more surreal.
We think the addition of colour to a subject like this can really take your creativity to another level, what do you think to shooting pine cones in this style?
In this version i changed the white balance. Thus, the sky received the color that he actually had a few minutes later, as you can see in the photo "Sunset in the windows". So you can see here how the picture would have looked like if the photographer and the pedestrian had been there a little later, or the sunset would have been a little earlier. :)
Is it a fake, cheating or the freedom of a photographer? What's your opinion?
Lagria hirta
Nikon D500 Sigma 105mm
Lagria hirta is a species of beetles in the family Tenebrionidae. The species name hirta comes from the Latin hirtus meaning rough hair or rough wool, referring to the coarse, fuzzy appearance of the beetle.
Now that's a look! Did you know that flies can perceive movement six times faster than humans? This allows them to instantly react to danger and avoid predators. Thanks to these unique abilities, flies are some of the quickest insects around

Dragonflies are among the oldest insects on Earth, and their eyes, composed of numerous ommatidia, allow them to see almost 360 degrees around them. This makes them some of the most skilled predators in aerial hunting.
A close-up macro shot of a delicate white flower, its golden stamens glowing in the gentle light of spring. The soft focus and warm tones evoke a sense of calm, purity, and the fleeting beauty of nature’s smallest wonders.

On the first day of fall, I was headed into a building for an early morning appointment. I looked down and noticed this leaf with the morning dew when walking in, but did not get a shot. After the appointment, it was still there with the glistening morning dew, and I stopped in my tracks so as not to miss it. The heart-shaped leaf and tear-like droplets framed by the concrete sidewalk all made the perfect metaphor at the changing of the seasons: happy reflections on the season past… maybe even sadness at its passing. But ahead of that: lovely things to come. To me, the best compositions are musical; you can almost hear them hum when you study them. So naturally, this would be a requiem. I converted to grayscale, added a slight vignette at the top and sharpened just a bit to highlight the macro-vision detail of the leaf’s veins, amplified by the water.
