Schon die Menschen der Steinzeit haben sich an Himbeeren erfreut, die botanisch wie die Brombeeren zu den Rosengewächsen zählen – und eigentlich gar keine Beeren sind, sondern sogenannte Sammelsteinfrüchte.

Die aromatischen Himbeeren sind ein Multitalent und enthalten viel Vitamin C, Eisen und sogar sekundäre Pflanzenstoffe, die freie Radikale abwehren und so helfen, Krebs zu verhindern.

Ruhe und Entspannung kann man in jedem Garten finden und langsam ist manchmal mehr.

Ein Blick sagt mehr als tausend Worte. Was ein Blick jeweils bedeutet, ist ganz unterschiedlich und hängt von der Intensität und Dauer ab. Wer, wen, was, wie lange und wie oft anschaut, hinterlässt eine ganz unterschiedliche Wirkung. Mein Blick nach draußen ist schon einmal positiv besetzt, durch die besonders schönen Ranunkeln, die auf der Fensterbank stehen.

Una mirada vale más que mil palabras. Lo que significa cada mirada es bastante diferente y depende de su intensidad y duración. Quién, quién, qué, cuánto tiempo y con qué frecuencia se ve, deja un impacto muy diferente. Mi vista al exterior ya está positivamente ocupada por el hermoso Ranunculus parado en el alféizar de la ventana.

Kakteen blühen das ganze Jahr, wenn sie die richtigen Lichtverhältnisse haben. Und sie sind eine wahre Augenweide! Mein Weihnachstkaktus blüht unermüdlich, dank automatischer Jalousie.

...in the cherry tree :-)

7DWF, Wednesdays: Macro or close-up

I guess that someone must have thrown this... what is it, a toy?... into this cherry tree. There were two boys merrily jumping around the tree, trying to get that thing down, but judging from the conversation their parents had it had not been thrown up there by one of the boys. The father could have easily grabbed it, as he was fairly tall, but I don't know if he did. I quickly took my capture and walked on ;-)

Taken at the annual Hanami festival at the TV-Asahi-Kirschblütenallee (TV Asahi Cherry Blossom Alley) which is located on the former border strip between the (former West-)Berlin borough Lichterfelde-Süd, and the (former GDR) small town Teltow. The Cherry Blossom Alley was initiated by the Japanese TV station TV Asahi to celebrate the German reunification in 1990. TV Asahi's viewers donated more than one million Euros for the so called "Sakura Campaign". Between 1990 and 2010 more than 10.000 Japanese cherry trees were planted not only on this former border strip between Berlin and Brandenburg, but in other places in Berlin and Brandenburg as well which were particularly affected by the German division. Each year, on the last Sunday of April, the Hanami festival is celebrated along the Cherry Blossom Alley. This year the trees were in full bloom.

Wer weiß, wie dieses Dingens (ein Ball, aber mit Armen?; ein Spielzeug vermutlich...) in den Kirschbaum gekommen ist... wahrscheinlich hineingeworfen. Jdf. standen zwei Jungs mit ihren Eltern vor dem Baum und versuchten, mit ausgefeilter Sprungtechnik, an das Dingens heranzukommen, das sie, dem Gespräch der Eltern nach zu urteilen, aber wohl auch nur dort gefunden, nicht aber hineingeworfen hatten. Der Vater hätte es ohne Weiteres herunterpflücken können, ob er es getan hat, weiß ich nicht. Ich habe mein Foto gemacht und bin weitergelaufen ;-).

Aufgenommen auf dem Mauerweg / dem ehemaligen Grenzstreifen zwischen Berlin und Teltow. Hier (und an anderen Orten entlang der deutsch-deutschen Grenze zwischen Berlin und Brandenburg) wurden zwischen 1990 und 2010 mehr als 10.000 japanische Kirschbäume gepflanzt. Es gibt hier das Japaneck und die TV-Asahi-Kirschblütenallee. Hintergrund: Der japanische Fernsehsender TV Asahi rief 1990, aus Freude über die Deutsche Wiedervereinigung, die "Sakura Campaign" ins Leben, in deren Rahmen die Zuschauer des Senders über einen Million Euro für die Pflanzung der Bäume spendeten. Jedes Jahr findet hier, zwischen Berlin-Lichterfelde und Teltow, am letzten Sonntag im April das Hanami-Fest statt, 2018 zum 17. Mal. Dieses Jahr waren die Bäume in voller Blüte.

"As with many flowers used for floral arranging, the Chrysanthemum was first cultivated from wild blossoms by the Chinese. The first breeding efforts date back to the 15th century. They’ve been a part of landscaping in the U.S. since importation in 1798. Some varieties sport daisy-style blooms with a single row of petals around a central core, while others are so ruffled and doubled they look like pom-poms instead and obscure the core. Both garden and exhibition plants are surprisingly tough, allowing arrangers to create unusual topiary designs with the living plants."

Die gelben dreizähligen Blüten der Sumpf-Schwertlilie besitzen, drei geaderte Hängeblätter sowie drei aufrecht stehende Domblätter und bildet zylindrische, dreikammerige Kapselfrüchte.

Einzelne Rosenblüten trotzen jetzt im November dem Sturm und Regen. Diese hier habe ich doppelt belichtet und so eine ganz besonders zarte Rose kreiert.

Die "Macro Mondays" Farben dieser Woche tauchen ganz plötzlich überall auf. Leider weiß ich aber nicht wie dieser prachtvolle Baum mit seinen herrlich orange leuchtenden Blüten heißt.

Von einem Vogel beschmutzt, aber so wunderschön. Für Fotos suche ich mir normalerweise fleckenlose Objekte aus, oder ich versuche Flecken soweit ich es kann, zu entfernen. Ich finde aber diese Tulpe hat auch mit dem Schmutz noch Charm.

My breakfast is more or less the same each and every day ~ fresh fruit (orange, strawberries, grapes, blueberries) low fat vanilla yoghurt and homemade muesli. Accompanied by a glass of apple juice and a black coffee!

Diese besonders schöne Waldrebe (Nelly Moser) blüht jetzt im Frühling dicht gedrängt. Die starkwüchsigen Lianen erreichen Wuchshöhen von 2 bis 6 Metern.
