Welcome to the family Mecles!
We own here in Sacel one of the last still working traditional mills of the Iza valley. Outside of the mill you find a "washing machine" for carpets. Inside you can have a look at all 3 functions traditional mills have in this region:
1. In the basement another washing machine
2. On the ground floor there's the mill, where nowadays we mainly grind corn.
3. On the first floor is the machine to work the wool. Here the trimmed and washed wool is prepared for spinning.
These 3 lines of work still today feed the miller's family although there is less work today and the mill isn't working each day anymore.

Willkommen bei der Familie Mecles!
Wir betreiben hier in Sacel eine der letzten noch in Betrieb befindlichen traditionellen Mühlen des Iza-Tals. Im Aussenbereichder Mühle finden Sie eine "Waschmaschine" für Teppiche. Im Inneren der Mühle können Sie alle 3 verschiedenen Funktionen einer alten Mühle bestaunen:
1. Im Keller eine 2. Waschmaschine
2. Im Parterre befindet sich die eigentliche Mühle, auf der in der heutigen Zeit hauptsächlich Mais gemahlen wird.
3. Im Obergeschoss befindet sich die Maschine zur Bearbeitung der Wolle. Hier wird die geschoren und gewaschene Wolle maschinell fein ausgekämmt und so für das Spinnen auf der Spindel vorbereitet.
Diese 3 Arbeitsbereiche ernähren bis heute die Müllersfamilie, auch wenn inzwischen nicht mehr täglich gemahlen und gekämmt wird.

AllSaints Company - Spital Fields at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas
My wife Joleen and I ventured out of the MGM Grand and the Wedding and Portrait Photographers (WPPI) convention for a few hours and walked around the Belaggio, the Cosmopolitan and City Center. We were pretty excited to see City Center as we have much love for architecture. These are just some snapshots taken while walking around.

We’ve fired up the Road Trip Time Machine and pointed it at BC Highway 3 for a look at this iconic road as it was between Princeton and Creston, in 1966. Here is my latest marble machine. It is called Mr. Marbles because the bowtie reminds me of Mr. Peanut. This machine is made from Maple, Cherry, and Zebrawood for the bowtie, however each one I make will have a different species of wood for the bowtie to give them each a bit of uniqueness. Every part has been made by hand, no cnc milling or computerized design was used.

Detail from a piece which is destined for exhibition next weekend. It will be shown at the Newman Brothers Coffin Factory in Birmingham, UK and will be entitled "A lament for an unheard voice.
My inspiration has been taken from notes found in the Shroud department where it was noted that for some burials it was required that female faces be shrouded as there was an open coffin tradition.

This business may have been here long before zoning laws declared this a residential area. Such enterprises are commonly "grandfathered" - allowed to stay but create no precedent for similar ones to start up nearby.
It may have a long history of skilled wood workers, whose grandchildren perhaps are acquiring MBAs and going into finance.
Eggs & flour to this in around an hour.
I hadn't made fresh pasta in so long, so this was long overdue.

Sewing machine Singer Featherweight machines were produced in black, beige/tan and white/green (what the company called Pale Turquoise) There were no red, blue or any other colour machines although many have been repainted in later life and new decals added Black 221 machines were produced at Elizabethport, New Jersey, and at Clydebank, Scotland. Beige/tan machines were produced at Clydebank and at St John's, Canada White/Green machines were produced only at Clydebank. Date made 1941. The Singer Featherweight portable sewing machine is a model made by that company between 1933 and 1964. The machine (model 221), adapted from an earlier portable, the Standard SewHandy (which company was bought out by Singer) weighs about 11 pounds and has been found to be an ideal machine for quilters and other sewers to take to classes or "on location." Very quiet and sturdily made with all-metal parts (mostly aluminum), the Featherweight sews only straight stitches but it sews them very well. Even the oldest machines, if they've been cared for, still sew wonderfully.
