After selling my trusty 12.1" Toshiba Portege R200 to a mate, I needed to replace it.. unfortunatly the Apple MacBook Pro 17" was just TOO tempting.

Besides being a mathematician, Bill Karr is an audiophile - writing, playing and mixing his own music. Here's his new home bedroom studio setup. He just got the M-Audio Oxygen 49 keyboard, and some new studio monitors (speakers) are on the way. Cool kid!

Took a nasty fall down the stairs in the ice yesterday, smashing the back corner of my beloved MBP. A quick tear-down and bending session with a pair of pliers got it to a workable condition for the next couple months or so until I break down and buy one of the new ones.

2nd attempt: the replacment machine worked like it should. And I'm installing Office on the Macbooks.

Don't cha just love those uselessly shiny screens!
