Do you like pictures with Depth of Field 🔍 ?

If you click on the link you can see more of it.

There was no light this day and a BnW edit was going to be the only real option.... I tried to do it with a 10stop to get that smooth sky effect I quite like in a BnW but with fairly torrential rain hammering down it just would not work. So I opted for the shorter exposure.

I love Ruthven Barracks... A right sense of history about the place... You can somehow imagine the Redcoats who would have been posted there and the life they must have had in post 1746 Scotland!

Question for the day... What type of monitor do you use? I have a MacBook Pro and always edit my shots on the wee 13.5" screen... I do miss the 21" screen of my old iMac... but the portability of the MacBook Pro suits me... I wish apple just did a desk monitor but they don't... So Ive been looking at monitors today... but it's a minefield! So any suggestions? Im happy to be in the £750-£1000 price range but I'd rather spend less if I'm honest! I do have a cheapo large monitor but its just terrible compared to my MacBook screen... its fine for spreadsheets etc... but the photos look dark and not very detailed.... I defo need a specific photo monitor.

Day 261/365:

This is what desperation looks like! I am desperately trying to stay in the game so when an idea like this pops into my head I am not going to turn it down.

Having got this far it would be a shame to quit.

I need to try to keep going through October too...for the October challenge. Not long before it starts if anyone cares to join in. A photo each day for the month of October. Image to be taken on the day. I seem to have found myself as admin of this lovely friendly group. So I really want to promote it. Link below, do take a look and maybe sign up.

Freed from the desk 'finally' , bought a MacBook Pro yesterday - had to test it out with an edit for the night :-)

i'm sorry but comments with pictures will be deleted.

I'm a sticker junky. But I can't bring myself to deface the top of my MacBook (I love its clean lines). The bottom case, however, is fair game.

Sunny day at work.

Bring on the sunshine! :)

I'm picturing an ideal scenario where one has a primary machine (workstation) with their iTunes library, movies, et al.

The "grab-and-go" MacBook Air would then be used to load up some music, a movie or two, your contacts/bookmarks/etc. So far, exactly like syncing an iPhone or iPod.

But a new tab for loading Files and keeping specified files and directories synced would be ideal!

You are awesome.

-Added to the Cream of the Crop pool as my most favorited photo. Thanks, everyone!

yesterday's 365.

definitely inspired by janet!

didn't have time for a 365 last night.

i fell asleep right after i finished my homework.

i really need a break from school. it's just too.. blah.

To what degree was it stage managed that the star of the show was the last balloon to stand up? Whether it was or not, it was a fitting climax to a fantastic morning to see the multicolored hummingbird balloon rise up. It is a big balloon, seeming to dwarf Old Parliament House from this perspective. The white color of Old Parliament House was also the perfect backdrop to the bright colors of this balloon. Looking closely at the crowd, I can see that people were riveted by the sight of this balloon. And nobody left before the hummingbird had lifted off and drifted well out of view.

Photography notes ...

The photograph was taken using the following hardware configuration ...

(Year of manufacture indicated in braces where known.)

- Hasselblad X1D-50c Medium Format Mirrorless Digital Camera (Silver) - MFR # H-3013900 (2017).

- Hasselblad X1D GPS Module - MFR # H-3054772.

- FotodioX Hasselblad V-Mount to XCD-Mount Camera Lens Adapter - MFR # HB-XCD-PRO.

I acquired the photograph (8272 x 6200 pixels) with an ISO of 100, exposure time of 1/500 seconds, and aperture of f/5.6

Post-processing ...

Finder - Removed the UHS-I SDXC card from the camera and placed it in a Lexar 25-in-1 USB card reader. Then used Finder on my MacBook Air to download the raw image file (3FR extension) from the card.

Lightroom - Imported the 3FR image. Applied a standard metadata preset (20161110 Import 001) during the import process.

Lightroom - Made various lighting and color adjustments to the image.

Lightroom - Applied a crop to the image retaining the 4:3 aspect ratio.

Lightroom - Saved the Develop module settings as a preset.

Lightroom - Output the image as a JPEG image using the “Maximum” quality option (7130 x 5348 pixels).

PhotoSync - Copied the JPEG file to my iPad Mini for any final processing, review, enjoyment, and posting to social media.
