Rotterdam

Die Maas, ein über 900 km langer Fluss, hat ihren Ursprung in Frankreich und hat sich ihren Weg durch Belgien und die Niederlande bis in die Nordsee gesucht. Bei uns verläuft sie einige Kilometer fast parallel zur deutschen Grenze, die ihren heutigen Zuschnitt dem Wiener Kongress (1815) verdankt. Von hier bis zur Grenze erstreckt sich der Nationaal Park De Maasduinen.
