16.2.2019

I would image this gorgeous Jag has been under a cover for a number of years, as April 1st marks its 25th year off the road! It actually looks in decent condition and it's nice and original which is good to see. I would imagine it's had some form of suspension or brake issue, as the front wheels are both off.

I would like to hope this will see the road again, it would look superb on a set of wire wheels.

The Opel Manta is a rear-wheel-drive sports coupé built by Opel over three generation between 1970-88.

The first generation Manta was launched in 1970 as a direct competitor to the Ford Capri and offered with a 1.2 S4 OHV engine (not marketed in the UK) a 1.6 and 1.9 ltr S4 OC engines of 90bhp and 105bhp . Built on the same floorpan as the first Ascona which was launched a few weeks earlier. All coil suspension (rigid back axle) with front disc brakes and optional Automatic transmission

In the UK there was no Vauxhall alternative to the Manta until after the launch, in 1975, of the Manta B1 and Ascona B with the arrival of the Mark 1 Cavalier coupe and sports hatch (Manta) and saloon (Ascona).
