One of a multitude of photos of this superb Pine Marten who visited me some time ago, I must have taken a few hundred photos during the few visits she made to me in my yard. A long awaited photo by a good Flickr friend of mind from Manitoba who has the same passion as me for this member of the Mustelidae family.

It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.

It's incredible the multitude of details in the species. In addition to the original species an infinity of hybrids combining two or more species and which make the happiness of the orchid growers.

Zwarte Haan, Friesland - The Wadden Sea is the largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world. The site covers the Dutch Wadden Sea Conservation Area, the German Wadden Sea National Parks of Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, and most of the Danish Wadden Sea maritime conservation area. It is a large, temperate, relatively flat coastal wetland environment, formed by the intricate interactions between physical and biological factors that have given rise to a multitude of transitional habitats with tidal channels, sandy shoals, sea-grass meadows, mussel beds, sandbars, mudflats, salt marshes, estuaries, beaches and dunes. The area is home to numerous plant and animal species, including marine mammals such as the harbour seal, grey seal and harbour porpoise. Wadden Sea is one of the last remaining large-scale, intertidal ecosystems where natural processes continue to function largely undisturbed.

Multitudes of bees used to bury themselves in the yellow-blossoms of the summer-squashes... when they had laden themselves with sweets, they flew away to some unknown hive... I was glad thus to fling a benefaction upon the passing breeze, with the certainty that somebody must profit by it, and that there would be a little more honey in the world, to allay the sourness and bitterness which mankind is always complaining of. Yes, indeed; my life was the sweeter for that honey :-)

When I met Michelle Zauner, lead singer of Japanese Breakfast, and autobiographical Crying in H Mart for this portrait, she was funny and sweet and I didn't know even a tenth of the multitudes she contains at that time. I'd recommend both her music and her autobiography, which gets into her relationship with her mom and her Korean identity and it also lays bare the process of grieving she goes through as her mom dies from Cancer. Zauner is honest and strong and an amazing human. I feel so honored I was able to take this portrait photo of her!

Her new album Jubilee was released June 4th!

Chichen Itza] was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period. The archaeological site is located in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico.

Chichen Itza was a major focal point in the Northern Maya Lowlands from the Late Classic (c. AD 600–900) through the Terminal Classic (c. AD 800–900) and into the early portion of the Postclassic period (c. AD 900–1200). The site exhibits a multitude of architectural styles, reminiscent of styles seen in central Mexico and of the Puuc and Chenes styles of the Northern Maya lowlands. The presence of central Mexican styles was once thought to have been representative of direct migration or even conquest from central Mexico, but most contemporary interpretations view the presence of these non-Maya styles more as the result of cultural diffusion.
