Today we walked 5km roundtrip on our clockwise route thru UVic, Henderson and back over Mt. Tolmie. Beautiful, sunny, warm day.

 

We got to get a close-up look at the new cairn atop Mt. Tolmie. It looks pretty good.

3 “scrapers” working in tandem to remove the stabilized lead-contaminated soil in 1-foot increments. The soil was contaminated by lead ammunition. The stabilization process prevents lead from leaching out of the soil into groundwater.
