The luxury cruise liner MS Deutschland recently made a trial visit to London Docklands in preparation for the 2012 Olympics.
The ship is 175.3 metres long and 23m wide. The historic West India Ship Lock is only 178m in length and 24.4m wide so there was only just enough room to get her into the lock to bring her into the berths at South Quay.
MS Deutschland is the largest known ship to have visited London Docklands.
I had to take this on my mobile phone camera as I noticed her leaving when I popped out to the bank at lunch time and my camera was back in the office!
Middle School students perform The Little Mermaid, the story of Ariel, a fun-loving and mischievous mermaid, who is off on the adventure of a lifetime with her best friend, the adorable Flounder, and the reggae-singing Caribbean crab Sebastian at her side. But it will take all of her courage and determination to make her dreams come true -- and save her father's beloved kingdom from the sneaky sea witch Ursula!

Vicenza Middle School hosts its Grand Bazaar Jan. 22, transforming the whole seventh-grade wing of the school into a Middle Eastern market for the day.
After researching the background history, geography and local products of a designated country, more than 80 seventh-graders displayed their colorful, culture specific wares.
Italians students from a middle school in Malo, about 10 miles northwest of Vicenza, experienced the bazaar while visiting the VMS as part of their annual cultural exchange program.
