The former SN59AYZ seen after a repaint into fleet colours and re-registration to G17MPT.
This turned out to be a disastrous purchase, being beset with electrical gremlins, it spent more time parked up in the yard than it did in service.
Mp postal emu 3017 in new yellow and red colors entering postal tracks at Rotterdam CS.
Forty years ago today I made a trip to Rotterdam CS station to get some train shot. It was overcast with light snow every now and then. We saw postal trains, some IC trains and an empty oil train with 2200 engines.
Here are 4 images from the same day. There was always an empty coal train staging around town for the southern Illinois mines. This one is sitting in Cotton Belt 4 south of Valley Junction.

Leica MP with Ilford XP2 film most probably, or Fuji CN400 as possible alternative, negative was scanned long time ago and it takes time to identify film strip and read the film type. The lens was either Summicron 35mm ASPH or Summilux 50mm ASPH - where is Exif when you need it ;-)
Oh, another one of those stitched panorama macro shots where the subject is to large to fit in frame, right?
Wrong. This blunt stretch spider (Tetragnatha obtusa) is absolutely small enough to fit in frame (as can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52807137438/), but since the top and bottom was just pure white, I figured I could get away with cropping that away and make this a 21:9 image.
And the trickery doesn't stop there. This is also rotated 180 degrees as I found this one upside-down in the veranda ceiling so I had to get a stool (which was a little too high) and shoot this with the camera upside down, pressing the shutter button with my left pinky finger (my mom took a photo of me looking very elegant here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52806686381/).
This is a focus stack, but instead of just taking multiple shots while moving or shifting focus ever so slightly, here I actually lowered the camera and rested between two shots because of the awkward position and still somehow managed to get the exact same angle and focus where it was needed - I'm as surprised as anyone!
Looking closely at this spider, you can see what will be its doom. On the back of it, there is a larvae of the parasitic wasp Acrodactyla quadrisculpta which has attached itself and will eat of the spider - but not enough to kill it until the larvae is ready to pupate.
CN 527 is rounding a superelevated curve at MP 7 of CN's Montreal Sub after setting off cars on the Freight Track near Turcot Ouest.
With construction going on along the Seward Highway near Indian it appears there may a few new vantage points to take photos. Not sure if these will be permanent or only temporary so I will try to take advantage while I can. Here 3008 leads a very short, 13 cars, off the CN barge past MP 88 and across Indian Creek. In future photos I hope to be able to include the Indian Creek Bridge but wasn’t able to in this view due to construction equipment.
A southbound CSX autrorack train passes the unique signal configuration at the south end of Bradner, OH on the Pemberville Sub. At one time, a center siding occupied this stretch of track. It was removed during the time of the Chessie System. The signals met their end in 2018.
