MOC: Motocross 4x4. A modern interpretation of the classic set 6677, Motocross Racing from 1986.
As you can see when the original, 30-year-old set is put next to my update, I have - in this case - been quite faithful to the original design. The shape of the car is the same, it has an opening bonnet (hood), tinted windows, a white hardtop, narrow headlights, a trailer with smooth mudguards, a blue motorcycle (with the number 3), and the drivers both have black helmets and S-patterned racing suits.
Spent the evening at the local racetrack watching family members race.
I used the 45 f/1.8 and the 75 f/1.8.
All photos are shot and composed by me. Thanks and have nice days ;)
A photo manipulation.

From Washougal for round 8 of the 2007 AMA outdoor motocross series. These riders take their 250cc four-stroke motorcycles and tear up the track.
Check out my photostream for more photos from my weekend at the Washougal National.

Part of my "Updated Classics" series - an ever-growing number of sets I've re-interpreted in order to make them fit better with modern LEGO City vehicles and buildings.
I was nine in 1986, and got the original that year or the year after. It was a favourite, I really liked the chunky SUV and the blue motorcycle. So revisiting this set is something I had wanted to do for a long time -
but I couldn't, because the new LEGO cross bike didn't exist in blue... until the Jurassic World sets came out two years ago and the T-Rex Tracker had one. So I built this for Brickworld in Chicago, picked the stickers I wanted to put on it, brought it with me to the US, bought the T-Rex Tracker in the LEGO store at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, ripped the box open, stickered the bike and put it on display... and I finally managed to snap some pictures it now!
I have to say I think the whole thing turned out very nice. There are several things I like about the car - the engine compartment and the opening hatch in particular - and the trailer is pretty smooth, if I may say so myself.
All stickers are original LEGO stickers, from various sets. Some have been cut to fit.
