The Motherland Calls (Russian: Родина-мать зовёт!, tr. Rodina-mat' zavyot!, literally Homeland-Mother Is Calling) is a statue in Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Russia, commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad. It was designed by sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich and structural engineer Nikolai Nikitin, and declared the largest statue in the world in 1967. Today, it is the tallest statue in Europe and the tallest statue of a woman in the world, not including pedestals.

"A long long time ago
You and I swam in the river of our souls
United
A long long time ago
You and I kissed goodbye the love of our lives
It's still with me now" - Motherland, Single Gun Theory.
The main monument of Mamayev Kurgan is the 85—meter sculpture "Motherland is calling!"This is, first of all, Mamayev Kurgan, the symbol of Volgograd and the Volgograd region, one of the main symbols of the Great Victory. Looking forward, as if in flight, the figure of a woman, a mother, with a sword in her hands, raises her sons to fight the enemy. Against the background of the sky, she looks like a bird soaring high.Once at the foot of the "Motherland", you fully understand how huge it is: the height of the woman's figure is 52 meters, which corresponds to the height of a person increased by 30 times. At the same time, the total height of the Motherland is 85 meters to the highest point - the tip of the sword..............................
I congratulate you all on the greatest holiday — Victory Day! I wish you only peaceful days and good news, sunny skies above your head and peace of mind in every home. Let children's laughter resound in every corner of the earth, and war will never touch even a small part of your life. I wish all of us happiness in every breath and the most wonderful feeling that there is life with all its charms. The great Victory Day has left its mark for centuries. We sincerely thank those who fought, are proud of them, and cherish their eternal memory. May peace, pacification, friendship, unity flourish around, there will be no wars, losses and tears. May good always overcome evil, and may a happy time full of smiles and joy reign. Happy Victory Day, my friends!!!

While having a period of total gloom, heavy rains/snowfalls can't help dreaming of the times and places where everything is not the same. About a motherland in its best as you remember it. Here's a picture from a distant location in my region that is not easy to reach. Month of May and warm evening, beautiful view and good food from an open fire, what can be better?
Thank you for all the comments and faves, my friends.
