Our lives appear to us an an open ended movie, like a dream in the night, we can never know where we are going, or so it feels. Yet all around us we see determinism, the sea on the tide has no way of turning, Spinoza and deterministic pantheism seemingly in action.
In making the picture I hoped the foreground image would create a 'wide-screen movie' effect to show watching a part of life as a film, a brief interruption of the constant shown by the background. The prints have faded and discoloured with age, something that I decided to leave since it seemed to fit with the theme.
The pictures were taken during a family holiday. It was a beautiful morning and even though it was early the sun was warm on my face. Everything felt good with the world, a day travelling behind Class 50s beckoned!
The image is a composite of two pictures taken within a few minutes of each other at Teignmouth in August 1985. The background image is the view from Spray Point looking out over the sun sparkling on the sea, whilst the second shows a Class 50 locomotive hauling the 07:50 Exeter St. David's to Paignton local train along the famous sea wall.

I had planned to go out and take some shots in the wood today but i wasn't in the mood, my car failed its m.o.t. and i need to get it welded and sorted before it's retest, i hate cars! That's all my money gone for that.
Anyhoo i took my bubble wand i brought ages ago to see what i could capture and this was the result. Hopefully i will cheer up after the cars done as i don't have to worry about it then.
On a plus side i managed to see Jupiter and three of its moons with my telescope last night! You could see the storms and stripes on its surface, it was amazing! Really made me sit back in awe on our place in the universe. :)

My last in my "The Dawn of Separation" series. I want to try to go in a bit more artistic direction with me next series...photoshop is definitely something I excel at...and I like to create really surreal looking images.
I guess some people are really good at the whole "go lay in a wheat field and look pretty then do some pretty processing" stuff...and that's fine. I want to try to be a little more original than that. But maybe that's just me. I guess I'll leave that stuff up to people like alexstoddard. I'm really just trying to find my own niche...which is proving quite difficult. There are a lot of talented photographers and artists on here.
