Monty prefers sashimi to avocado. Not surprisingly.
Ooooh la la, been so busy lately, my feet haven't touched the ground. Forest pets just got super busy at exactly the same time we got the keys for our new shop..... Flickr time has somewhat fallen by the way-side :(((
I've got a load of shoots to edit, but here is one from a couple of weeks ago. Monty was one of the best behaved dogs I've had the pleasure of photographing. makes my job so much easier!! It was a really enjoyable shoot :)
Walking around seafront Sunday this morning I bumped into a visitor from Jersey called 'Monty' who plays in a band called The Pirates.
He'd already started to 'prefuel' in anticipation of tonight's football final!
Happy Memories
We lost Monty last month at nearly 12yrs old. Here are some 'new' old pictures of him.
Monty was the first Boxer I met at work two years ago. He's over ten years old now and I've met many others since then :-)
17th of November 2018, the date Monty the Zany Zen's pup passed away. Today the ZZR runs Montgomery the locomotive that was named in honour of him with a black ribbon.

The heatwave is proving a bit too much for Monty Cat. So he is snoozing on the chair in the sitting room. Photograph edited with the hipstamatic iPhone app.
Monty, our Green Cheek Conure, drops a feather now and again. The longer ones I stick in this tiny vase. Not sure how many more it will hold. Monty's colors are exquisite. View L.
# 42 for 112 for 2012: Feathers
This is a coming home of sorts. Many years ago when I decided to take up photography again after a long, long hiatus. I found the 100 Strangers Project on Flickr. Circumstances then propelled me toward The Human Family Group. I actively participated and then my photography took me in another direction. Still people, but on a much more formal basis.
Well old habits die hard they say!!
I had just finished a photoshoot and as I walked back to my vehicle I caught the eye of a wonderful individual.
Meet Monty, Monty hails from Halifax Nova Scotia in eastern Canada. He has lived in Ottawa for a short time and is still getting accustomed to Canada's Capital City.
Monty saw my camera and we struck up a conversation. He is an aspiring photographer and loves to take pictures of people. He owns a Canon camera complete with a nifty fifty prime lens, perfect for street portraits. He explained to me that he really doesn't have the nerve or the confidence to approach strangers for their photo and story. I explained to him my journey and how The Human Family and the friends I had made in this group had inspired me to do what I do today. Once you get your first portrait under your belt, it's infectious to get out there and meet more strangers.
We chatted for a while and I offered to join Monty on a photography walk and we could try our hands at helping to get him started. Once he sees me in action he can then learn how to do it properly and he's off to the races :)
I took his photo and told him he would be on Flickr in short order. I gave him my contact information and look forward to seeing him again.
Monty has a wonderful warm personality and I am confident he is a natural for this.
Thank you Monty for connecting me back to my comfortable place. I wish you well moving forward.
This is portrait #138 in my Human Family Project

These lovely horses, Monty and Logie have been on TV a few times but really nice to see them at work. The recent dry weather meant the soil was quite hard but no problems for them.
